Who could possibly create a game that currently has more than 10 million people subscribed and paying every month? The numbers of people that play are growing as more and more features come out for this game. Most people probably have heard about this game: World of Warcraft. Leave it to blizzard to make one of the most addicting and enjoyable games ever created on planet earth. There are currently 10 million people subscribed, but the numbers of people that join are increasing daily. World of Warcraft, also known as WoW, belongs to the game genre MMORPG. The concept of this game and the constant excitement and challenges the game brings make it one of the most famous games in the world.

Players basically create a character on a server. There are two factions: the Horde and Alliance. You choose from a variety of race and choose the class that you will be playing. Every class is essential in WoW. You start out as a level one character. In order to level, you kill creatures for experience and level up if you max out the experience bar for that level. Another faster way to level is through questing. Questing allows the player to discover the storyline of the game. This game is set up just like the real world. There are main cities in which you can learn professions, use the auction house, mailbox, join guilds, and communicate with other players. You can join something called a "battleground" and work with your team to win against the other faction teams. There are also things called "instances" in which a group of 5consisting of various classes work together in order to reach the bosses which drop rare items. The real fun comes when you max out your level at currently 70 in the Burning Crusade.

At level 70, you can do two things. You can join an arena team or raid. For arena teams, you create a mini team with few members on the team. You can choose teams of 2s, 3s, or 5s. You and your group can then compete with other teams. If you win, your rating will go up, but losing will decrease your teams rating. The higher rating your team is, the better items and more points you will receive. Raiding is another great, fun challenge of WoW. For raids, people get into groups of 10, 25, and sometimes 40 in order to work together and beat extremely challenging bosses. Without teamwork and communication, this is not possible.

World of Warcraft gives players so many things to do in the game that you will never be able to experience every aspect of the game. Also, new expansion releases new raids, dungeons, quest, and level limits which encourage the players to continue on playing. WoW will continue to grow as years pass and become known as the greatest game ever invented on planet earth.
