I've always been a fan of dread locks. Dreads when grown properly are beautiful to look at. It's hard to believe that there is actually an ugly stage in the dread growing process. Not everyone can surpass the ugly stage. The ugly stage is considered the beginning or the first steps of the dreading process, the roots. If the roots of the dreads are not strong then you're wasting your time because eventually the dreads will grow but due to the weakness of the roots they will begin to break off. So in the beginning you have these little worm-like looking dreads all over your head they have been finely twisted and with the use of a little bonding wax (beez wax) and consistent twisting the dreads will eventually lock. Meaning they will not unravel. The locks are very small and cover the entire head. So you sort of look like you have a really low haircut with little knots and twist all over the place. I'm trying to stress the unattractiveness of this stage because it's sort of how God shapes and molds us. Our beginning may not look so good but our latter end will be beautiful.

God has created us all with a purpose and for his purpose. He has an expected end for us. We may not know what it is now but he will eventually reveal it to you if you trust and believe. We have no control over our lives for the most part all we have is choice. He said choose you this day who you will serve. He allows you to make your own decision and he even gives you new mercy every morning to get you through the day. He knows you're a mess, he knows you got habits, he knows your not worthy, but at the end of the day he knows that he has planted a seed in you. Destiny is in your design. Your just in the ugly stage; the beginning of growth. Your roots are forming and God is locking in purpose. He knows you're not perfect, but you're beautifully and wonderfully made. He knows your beginning and he sees your end. Right now you're just a work in progress you're being setup to be set apart. Now you know why you are different, why it is hard for you to fit in, why people are so intimidated by you. It's not because of who you are today, but because who you will be tomorrow. People may view you as a mess or lost cause but God began a good work in you that he will be faithful to complete. So you may not even understand why it is that you even endure the ugly stage, but understand now it is because you know the outcome is going to be worth it. The beginning is your story to tell but the end is God's glory.

The devil knows this too and that's why he fights you so hard using any and every device to take you out. He knows you're weak and vulnerable right but he's not afraid of you. His goal is to destroy you before you begin to realize who you are. Like in the movie Matrix Neo was powerless until he began to understand who he was and the power he possessed. If you want to see how afraid the Devil is of you; then begin to understand your purpose. Ask God what it is. It's no secret. When you find out what it is don't run from it. The devil is going to be more than glad to help you run. He's going to try to set you up to make you think you can't walk in your purpose. You can, just remember the ugly stages of your life the proof that you are an over-comer. Your latter will be greater than your beginning. Embrace your purpose and allow God to have his way. He is the way, the truth, and the light. Be encouraged. Be steadfast and unmovable.....Grace&Peace.
