Worlds First Underwater Luxury Resort

50-year-old president of U.S. Submarines, Bruce Jones, has spent much of his career, and is best known for, designing underwater toys for the rich and famous. Jones is now directing his expertise toward the hotel industry. By September of 2008, Jones plans to open the world's first underwater luxury resort, Poseidon Mystery Island, in northern Fiji.

The entire structure will be assembled in Portland, Oregon, and then be transported to Fiji by a heavy-lift ship. This will help in keeping the building cost down.

The resort will offer three types of accommodations. One above ground with a private beach, one over the water, and one on the bottom of the ocean. Guests will be able to experience each of these during there week long stay.

There are forty-eight magnificent bungalows on Poseidon Mystery Island. Twenty-four beachfront bungalows, with there own enclosed courtyard, offering a bridge covered entrance pond, visible from an open living room. The other twenty-four bungalows are suspended above the crystal clear waters of a tropical lagoon. Each of the 1,500-square-foot bungalows offer a wrap around veranda or balcony, a covered dining area, air conditioning, natural woos furnishings, and private fresh-water plunge pool.

To access the underwater suites, an elevator will transport guests forty feet under the sea. Here they will find twenty-four spectacular suites, and one luxury apartment. Fine fabrics, leather and marble, grace the floors and walls. Seventy percent of the room is enveloped in four inch thick clear acrylic plastic, allowing amazing sights of the individual coral gardens, and the open ocean beyond. External underwater lights can be turned on at night to attract marine life coming up toward the surface from the deeper areas of the reef. Special interior window film can be actuated to protect the guests privacy, if necessary.

For ultimate indulgence, guests can reserve the spectacular Nautilus Suite. This is the largest undersea dwelling ever built. This 1,000-square-foot suite, is decorated in the fashion of the French author, Jules Vern's, fictional submarine.

The undersea suites, over water villas, and island bungalows will each include the following amenities: a king sized bed, sitting room featuring a library, a personal office with voice/data access, Wi-Fi and high speed Internet connection, and multi-line telephones. Large high definition flat screen television, cd/dvd player, and satellite radio with surround sound. An in room fridge, continuously stocked with gourmet snakes, champagnes, wines, premium alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and juices. A rich marble bathroom with a large jacuzzi tub, two sinks, hydro-spa shower, plush towels, bathrobes, natural loofah sponges, hair dryer, and a selection of marine influenced beauty products.

Poseidon Mystery Island will have six restaurants and seven bars. It will house the worlds largest and most elegant undersea restaurant/lounge and a unique towering treetop bar. Also available will be an underwater library/lounge, theater area, conference room/wedding chapel (the worlds only underwater wedding chapel), a retail boutique, dive shop, fitness center with every machine imaginable, luxury spa, and water sports center.

Guests will be able to enjoy a nine-hole golf course, two tennis courts, a remarkable swimming pool, volleyball, bocceball, bike riding, trail walking, birding, wind surfing, para sailing, kayaking and snorkeling. Maneuver a personal Triton submarine through the glorious tropical lagoon (pilot training included). Explore the ocean depths on board a sixteen passenger luxury submersible. Go scuba diving in pristine waters, cave exploration, or walk on the sea floor. Relax by swinging in a hammock built for two, or meditating under the gaze of only the moon and stars.

Guests will also have the opportunity to take part in lectures and workshops given by scientists, or attend classes on the maintenance of a nurturing lifestyle and on the preparation of exciting cuisine.

Poseidon Mystery Island, and its lagoon will be located in Fiji within a coral atoll, the remnants of an inactive volcano. At one time the island housed a thriving copra (dried meat, or kernel, of the coconut) plantation. An abundance of Palm Trees still encircle the island, proving shade and homes for many unusual creatures.

Maximum occupancy of the resort is one-hundred-forty-four guests. Reservations can be made after March 17, 2008. Guest will be able to experience Poseidon Mystery Island with its exclusive seven day, six night introductory package, priced at $15,000 dollars per person. This one of a kind resort is sure to attract the rich and famous.
