World's Largest Coo Coo Clock

Wilmot, Ohio

Bubba
It was a cool morning. The drizzle prevented us from putting the top down for our adventure. We had planned for five years to find the "Worlds' Largest Coo Coo Clock." It was 25 feet tall with dancing figures that were 5 feet tall. Located in Holmes County (The heart of Amish Country) The internet provided us with more details and You Tube even had several short video clips to watch. We began the adventure with a heavy brunch at the infamous Billy's Coffee Shop in downtown Fremont, Ohio. (y'all can read about Billy's Coffee Shop @ http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1727898/billys_coffee_shop_restaurant_review.html?cat=22)

Our adventure took us East on US Rt 20 to the city of Norwalk, Ohio. The conversation was lively and filled with giggles, and laughter. Just the other side of Norwalk, Ohio the Sun broke through the clouds. We stopped and put the top down before turning on to US Rt 250. It was a cool day only 70 degrees perfect for a topless adventure. The wind was combing out hair and we were just two lovers enjoying life to the fullest

The Queen Goddess loves my little yarns that I spin about places we pass. There was Ernie's Pest Control and Day Care Center. I'm sure the children were pests at times. The Fur, and Fowl Outfitters, Lingerie Shoppe and DVD rental brought giggles of the camouflage lingerie all good hunters and fishermen need. Fredericksburg, Ohio was my favorite yarn. That is where Fredericks of Hollywood got their start. The Submission caps got in the way of design so they moved to Hollywood and became known world wide.

We arrived @ Wilmot, Ohio early in the afternoon. We drove up and down US RT 62 and saw no signs of the "Worlds Largest Coo Coo Clock." In desperation we stopped at an Antique store and asked where it could be? The lady at the Antique store almost cried. "The restaurant where The Worlds Largest Coo Coo Clock was located closed last November and the auction sale was yesterday." We talked with several of the local business folks and no one knew if it would ever re-open. (Note: Don't put off going to find something you have interest in, it may close before you get there)

We have learned by experience we must turn every disappointment, every challenge if you will, into a blessing. We retraced our path and began looking for an Amish Restaurant for our supper. The first two we tried had closed for the day. The third was closed period. We drove on enjoying the rolling hills of Southern Ohio.

We were passed by a 1957 Chevy so thought perhaps we would find a car show to sweeten the trip. We followed the beautiful restored treasure all the way to Milan, Ohio. The gentleman and his lady turned into a driveway that must have been their home... it was a sweet car.

At this time the Queen Goddess was threatening to gnaw on the dashboard. We turned into the parking lot of a little place called "Danny Boys" near Sandusky, Ohio. The décor was clean and reminiscent of the "Rat Pack" days. The music was soft jazz. The salads were ice cold and the steak sub (Named a Hoss Cartwright) was big enough to share. The hot, robust Columbian Coffee was served in huge mugs. Our server "Mary" was delightful. It was the perfect ending to a blessing challenged day.... Mizpah ;-}}>

Funny! Sorry you missed it, but I can imagine the sound from such a large clock would have driven you coo coo, anyway. I can't stand hearing clocks!
