There are a lot of communities that argue the ethics behind churches generating a profit, because it is perceived to be blasphemous by some. Then there are the entrepreneurs that know religion is one of the most profitable business' on the planet. What ever your opinion of the concept of profiting from religion is, the end result, religion is lucrative.
In the arena of retail, religion entrepreneurs have diverse categories of goods to sell and make a profit. For example, religious apparel, artwork, audio and video, bibles, books, educational, crosses and crucifixes, jewelry and medals, rosaries, statutes, and figurines are all items that can be sold within a business environment to make a healthy profit. Outside of individual entrepreneurship, churches and religious organizations can bring in a profit as well.
Churches and Parishes can make incredible profit by selling religious memorabilia to the public, charging for community services, or even operating commercial businesses in competition with the world. In fact, churches should make a profit out of their business transactions and continue to re-invest those profits back into the church. Like any other organization, profit or non-profit, they have to generate profit in order to expand. Like all organizations, gained capital is required to grow. If the church manages financials properly they could easily become a multi-million dollar institution.
No matter what your opinion, business is business. Over three quarters of the world, nearly 1,699,000,000 people, practice some sort of religion and purchase religious memorabilia. Visualize the amount of profitable business there truly is in the area of religion. I know personally that I have spent at least $2,000 alone on religious memorabilia in the past few years. That is one person compared to the world. Religion is easily the most profitable business on the planet.

Post a CommentAnd don't forget: churches are not taxed for property values. You bet religion is a lucrative business, sometimes in the past they would not like us to know the hows and why (think WWW2 and even the dark ages) and how much they are worth today (Vatican). Engrossing to read very little written thanks!
Very interesting! Hmmm, maybe I'll start a business selling religious goods!
Thank you I found this helpful. Hugz CJ
Thank you...I am also Catholic and when i was doing my research on profitable businesses it came to my knowledge that "the church" was one of the most profitable out there. When I did my research on the Vatican I was amazed. Thanks Shannon for your nice comments.
