World's Richest Cities: Can We Be like Them?

How Abu Dhabi and Tokyo Became Wealthy

Sage M.
Being the richest cities in the world takes a lot of discipline. Many of these cities that are really rich have done so by reserving and investing wisely in other countries. It's wise for other countries to owe you but try not to owe anyone. America has a resources that are marketable and great for export, we need to get into the exporting business and not importing so mush. Another area is keeping the jobs right at home, we are making other countries rich yet millions of Americans are jobless. That is not working to make a country rich, here's a couple of smart cities that are showing us how it should be done. If we want to be a rich country and remain rich we should change how we do business and take the greed out of politics.

The number one richest city in the world is not only rich but everyone of it's 420,000 citizen is also. Abu Dhabi has ensure that very citizen share in the wealth that the city has brought in from the black gold that lies under the city. Each of it's citizen has an estimated USD$17 million. Abu Dhabiis known as the little rich city.

Abu Dhabi is located in the Persian Gulf and is the capital of the united Arab Emirates, it is the richest in the world. Each of it's 420,000 citizen sits on 1 tenth(1/10) of the worlds planets oil and have almost $1 trillion dollar invested overseas.

The Arabs have decided to rebuild their city into a mega luxury resort, investing billions of dollars in it's development. The have put in place a monstrosity of a plan of putting Abu Dhabi on the map. They are building a super size city with the best of everything money can buy. A $6.8 billion state of the art airport has been built with an $8 billion dollar order to Airbus. A $3 billion seven star hotel has just finish building with enough luxury to put Buckingham Palace to shame. There is a multi million dollar state of the art hospital under construction which will be housing top notch doctors and facilities.

The precedent has been set by neighboring cousin Dubai which became a tourist hub and major oil supplier. Abu Dhabi is the new Dubai, they have taken on the task of impressing the world with luxury.

Tokyo is unrivalled in her growth potential and will remain wealthy for years to come. In a report by Price Water Coopers PMC, Tokyo is placed as the richest city for the period 2005-2020. Known for it's it's vast industries and ingenious ideas on automobile, Tokyo has a trend that's hard to follow.

Tokyo is located on the main island of Honshu which is the capital Japan and the largest island, the greater Tokyo Area is the world's most populous metropolitan area with almost 9 million people.

This island is known as the financial hub of Asia. Tokyo is one of the three big finance centers of the world along with New York and London. There you'll find the headquarters of several banks and insurance companies. The other source of income for Tokyo is manufacturing electronic gadgets such as digital cameras, ipods and optical goods which are exported throughout the world.

Tokyo was voted by the Economist Intelligent Unit in 2006 as one of the world's most expensive places to live.
