World's Smallest Deer Species Discovered

The smallest ever deer is found in the Himalayas as well as in the area of Chile and Argentina. Recently the world record deer and the smallest ever has been found by an environmental group in Himalayas. Scientists discovery smallest ever deer, they immediately send the blood sample for the DNA test and confirmed that this is really a new rare species.

Scientists are excited having discovered world smallest deer, a rare species of miniature muntjac, the world's smallest deer species. This world record deer stands 60 to 80 centimeter in height and weighs approximately 11 kilograms (24 pounds).

Smallest ever the leaf deer also called the leaf muntjac which inhabits the far flung mountain regions of Himalayas and also south-east Asia. This world record deer was first sighted by WCS biologist Alan Rabinowitz in 1997 at Myanmar, he took the help and assistance from, local hunters to procure smallest ever record deer. He then sent this for DNA analysis at New York. The world record deer starling revelation was recently published in journal Animal Conservation, confirmed the world record deer leaf deer as unique and the smallest deer.

Dr. George Amato director for conservation genetics for WCS said the smallest ever deer is indeed the world record deer after testing the DNA sample. He further added that record deer is indeed the smallest ever species of mutjac.

"This mammoth cultural and natural variety underscores the delicate character of an environment which risks being lost forever unless the impact of climate change are inverted" the leader of the World Wildlife Fund's Living Himalayas proposal, a regional protection program that covers India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Another such smallest ever world record deer was found in Chile and Argentina. This is called as Pudu, the smallest deer known alive in the world. This record deer the smallest ever stands only 13 to 15 inches tall or 33 to 38 cm at the shoulder and only weighs around 18 pounds or 8.2 kg.
Wild life conservative as well as the scientists have shown the concern to protect smallest ever world record deer and its frazil eco system. Himalaya has very diverse biological and ecological system and all concern should take planned steps to protect.

With the wildlife tourists and mining, and other human activities should be progressed in such a manner that both the delicate eco system of Himalaya and human activities can co exits without harming each other.
