The Taking of Pelham 123
A subway dispatcher is faced with how to deal with a criminal and his gang. They take people hostage on the train, Pelham 123, and demand a lot of money. The film stars Denzel Washington as the good guy, and John Travolta as the bad guy. Even with these two, the film is a bust. As the movie rolls along, it tries to make you feel like everything is intense, and it really isn't. It's not that the acting is lackluster, it just doesn't feel like everything is there. The smallest things are hyped up, so it feels like a waste of time to watch the film. Since this is a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, it's not that easy to match the original.

Imagine That
A business guy that is always working hardly has any time for his daughter. Then with her special blanket, she imagines all these places that turn out to save her dad from disaster. They soon start to spend time together, and it makes you feel all sweet inside. Starring Eddie Murphy, the real show stealer is his daughter in the film, played by Yara Shahidi. She barely saves the movie from laying flat. Since this is a movie produced by Nickelodeon, this is a kids film. There are your typical jokes, and Eddie Murphy pretty much doesn't do anything that funny to stand out in the film. This film is entertaining for youngsters, nobody else.

Year One
The premise is two cavemen that travel the world. While it may seem like an original idea, most of the film isn't. Starring Jack Black and Micheal Cera, they are two comedians who are not funny in this film. Jokes abound, but none of them are original or funny. The situation that they get into are hilarious, but they kill it as soon as they start talking. Jack Black is a funny guy, but I'm sure he could have found a better film to tell jokes in. There is nothing memorable in this film, other than their long hair. Whoever wrote this script read it once and never read it again. They failed to screen out the bad parts, which is the whole movie.

Drag Me to Hell
Directed by Sam Raimi, this film is about an old woman that tries to get a loan for her house. When she is denied the loan, she puts a curse on the loan officer. The young woman's life turns for the worse, so she tries to get rid of the curse. Raimi is a noted horror director, but this film misses the mark. There are scenes that are funny more so that scary. I am horror film fan, and I knew it wasn't going to be scary. It's not that the acting is bad, there is just nothing fresh to keep you interested.

Land of the Lost
The premise is a failed Dr. that gets sucked back in time with a machine that he invented. He runs around with his assistant and a survivalist, trying to live in the strange world they are in. While you might think that even thought this film stars Will Ferrell, it's not that funny. Horrible acting is seen throughout the film. With all the special effects and the dangers, the actors aren't really that convincing enough to make you believe them. The only barely tolerable part of this whole film Is Will.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 was a lot better than I thought it would be, and it's certainly better than Wolverine and Terminator Salvation.
