Worst Soaps for Sensitive Skin

Sabrina Martin
Over the years I've tried many kinds of soap. I've purchased soaps simply because they were on sale, only to pay for it with dry itchy skin later. I've also used whatever soap was in the house at the time and have had some unfortunate experiences with that.

Although these experiences were unpleasant, I've learned what soaps to avoid from them. If you have sensitive skin, below is a list of the worst soaps for sensitive skin.

Tone

I tried Tone bar soap because I thought it would be good for my sensitive skin. Turns out I was wrong. It didn't dry out my skin but it did make me itch. The fragrance was unpleasant and too strong. Don't let the fact that it's made with cocoa butter fool you. It's one of the worst soaps for sensitive skin.

Lava

When I was younger we used to keep a bar of Lava soap in the shower for my dad who was an appliance repair man. Lava works great to clean oil and grease off your skin; however it also does a good job of irritating it. It's an extremely powerful cleanser and one of the worst soaps for sensitive skin.

Old Spice

Normally Old Spice would not be a soap I would use being female. But while staying with my cousin, her brother had a bar of Old Spice High Endurance Refreshing Deodorant Soap in the shower. It was the only soap there, so I used it. It was terrible. My skin burned after using it. Granted it's not made for females, but I think any guy with sensitive skin would suffer from using this stuff. It's definitely one of the worst soaps for sensitive skin.

Lever 2000

Lever 2000 doesn't seem like a very harsh soap and it isn't compare to some of the others. It did cause my skin to dry out though, which created a lot of itching. Although it's not as bad as the other soaps mentioned here, it still isn't what I would consider a good soap for sensitive skin.

Irish Spring

There's so much perfume in this soap, it's impossible for me to use it. It was so irritating to my skin that I felt like I needed to take another shower to wash it off. It caused dryness, itching, and burning. It's by far one of the worst soaps for sensitive skin.

If you deal with sensitive skin, take my word for it and avoid using these soaps.
