Worth the Price? Review of Rusk Sensories, Brilliance Conditioner, Leave In- Grapefruit & Honey Color Protecting Cream

I have been coloring my hair all season log, and I have hated the results 90% of the time. I finally colored my hair a color I liked, and I wanted to try and keep the brilliance of the color for as long as possible, because any hair coloring fanatic like myself knows that color only stays for a certain amount of time, and then it begins to fade.

When I came across a bottle of Rusk Sensories, Brilliance Conditioner, Leave In- Grapefruit & Honey Color Protecting Cream, I went ahead and made the $14.99 purchase hoping that it would work well, considering 1. it was made by Rusk a well known salon quality brand, and 2. the price fooled me into thinking it would work well.

The scent also played a major part in my purchasing decision, as it smelled like warm honey with a touch of refreshing grapefruit. It does this little trick to the senses where the citrus awakens and the honey soothes. Like fall and summer seasons bottled up. I loved it, and the scent alone makes this one purchase worthy, however the unfortunate thing about it, is that the scent does not last once you apply it.

You are probably wondering though, is the product working though? Does that make it purchase worthy?

Sorry Charlie! This overpriced nicely scented cream is nothing but a waste of dough. I have been using it for over 2 months now, on a daily basis, on both dry and wet hair, and over the past few weeks I have watched the darker brown coloring my hair was, fading into a more honey color.

Anther issue I have with this one, is the fact that the consistency is really runny, I do not even know how or why they thought calling this watered down gunk a cream was standard. Perhaps I was sold a bottle that was returned and water had been added? I have no idea, all I know is that this one is watery, more watery than a cheap lotion would be.

Besides protecting the color, it was also supposed to strengthen and improve the hair, which I have not seen happening here. My hair color is fading, splits are still present, and well, that's about it.

I was hoping if anything it would provide as a detangler for after showering, but it actually seemed to bind the hair up even more, making additional tangles.

With that said, I would skip out on picking this one up all together. The only thing it has going for it is that fact that it smells really delicious, but that scent only goes as far as the bottle, as in: as soon as you squeeze it out, the scent has faded out.
