Worth Waiting Up For

Steve Helmer
It's 3 am.; starting to get closer to 4

And I'm still awake, waiting for you to walk through that door.

I won't get too much sleep since the baby will be up before 7

But you're worth waiting up for because, when I'm with you, I'm in Heaven.

Some people tell me I should be bitter.

Cause you're out partying with friends while I'm at home once again playing sitter.

I won't argue, staying up always leaves me drained.

But you're still worth waiting up for because when I'm without you I go insane.

I pace the floor and constantly look out the window.

But, as of right now, you're still a no-show.

I hope you will be home soon but, if needed, I'll stay up all night.

Because you're worth waiting up for even if it means staying up until daylight.
