Would Death of the Porn Industry Improve Couples', Families' Relationships?

Hannah
The porn industry has such far-reaching effects on couples and families he could take a lifetime to write about them all. Some believe it's just a benign, fun thing to do, while many others have suffered the devastation porn brings to their relationships and families. So, let's look at some of the amazing things that could happen, if the porn industry just up and died one day.

When a couple is in a committed relationship more times than not pornography sets yup a wall between the intimacy between a couple. Many women have voiced to me personally that their partner's involvement in, or addiction to porn makes them feel inadequate. They start to believe they are not good enough for the man they love. Their thinking is, if they were good enough their man wouldn't need the pornography. This couldn't be further from the truth; a person's addiction has nothing to do with anyone but themselves. This addiction to porn stifles intimacy between a couple, and creates a gap between the couple that gets bigger and bigger as time goes by.

So then, what would happen if porn didn't exist? Men would have to look to their mates for the intimacy, pleasure, and comfort that they gain from the pornography. Women would start to believe that yes, they are more than enough for their man. When someone feels good about who they are, and what they have to offer the one they love, wonderful things start to happen. The woman is able to open herself up to giving more of herself to her man, and in return the man feels more wanted and desired. There's nothing like it when the walls come down, and the intimacy is open and honest to create a wonderful relationship and closeness that cannot be obtained with pornography. The person you love, and who loves you is real, no magazine, or porn site can ever match what you can experience with the person that truly loves you.

Pornography can also affect families as well. It's not just your partner that is affected; it is the children as well. If you for one minute think your kids don't know what your doing, your nuts! I don't care how well you try to hide it; they will find it, some way, somehow. Anyone who has kids is very well aware of how curious, and capable kids can be when they want o find something. So, let's assume one day they do find out. What kind of role model do you think you are for your kids when you use, and approve of pornography? What are you telling your sons about women? Those women are just something to use for your pleasure, and that's all their good for? Oh yes, I imagine they're allowed to cook and clean as well. What are you telling your daughters about what women are worth? Would you really want your daughter on a porn site, or in a porn magazine someday? Most fathers I know, would shoot their daughters date, just for bringing them home late. Imagine some man drooling over your daughter, and then while looking at your daughter, well you get the idea. How could any man ever imagine that about his daughter? Well, every woman is some man's daughter.

So, then what would happen to families if porn didn't exist? There would be an open honesty between parent and child in which there was no reason to hide what you do. This would definitely make for a much better, and closer relationship between parent and child. Children could look up to their parent as a positive, and honorable role model. Children would actually start believing their parents about the things they say regarding sex, and maybe just maybe, wait until that person they truly love comes along.
Children would actually know that having addictions are not something to strive for. Children would also have a much better chance of their parents staying together, and growing up in an intact family. Pornography, especially when it is addictive does break up couples, therefore kids grow up in a broken home.

Whatever way you choose to feel about pornography there's just too much evidence all the way around that it negatively affects couples, as well as the family unit. My feeling is if you really feel you can't live without it, which is called an addiction, at the least, stay single, and don't inflict it on a partner, children, or a family. Everyone has the right to hurt themselves if they choose to do so, but they don't have the right to hurt others in the process!

to valerie you have been conditioned to believe that, its very easy for that to happen, women like you are a waste of space and only make the problem worse, I hope all your children are girls when or if you have any you'll sing a different song then

Valerie, you should see a psychiatrist.

I agree with you as well.. the worst part of it is that people watch it and you dont know if the woman consented to it.. I've come across porn out of Japan where you see groups of women on their knees in a room and it looks like they were ordered to be there.. In other videos sometimes, the women appear to be getting raped and I don't see the Japanese government or police authorities doing much about it. Very sad and disturbing.. I have nothing against watching beautiful naked women but anything beyond that is unnecessary and should be banned..

Valerie: P.S. What you're talking about has Nothing to do with love. It's a shame you don't know that!

Valerie: Well, good for you, I think. Believe it or not there are plenty of people that do not have to do stuff like that, and believe having sex is part of a loving relationship that doesn't need twisted fanatsies. I feel bad for you that you obviously haven't been exposed to people like this, and believe everyone needs this sort of stuff. You're sure missing out on a beautiful experience, with a good man! Maybe someday when you have kids you will figure it all out!

Well, truth is, we humans like sex. We like it a lot. We also have some twisted fantasies that only porn can fulfill in a non risky way. Besides, it is a lot of fun. You get a lot of good tips for things to do with your partener... or a random hook up. See sex does not equal love. There is so much more to love than sex. And there is so much more to sex than love. Porn rules. I love it, my boyufriend loves it. Hell, it is nice to know there is a place where every fantasy can come true.

It is a shame that the porn industry has been allowed to flourish in our society. Yes, it is a very harmful force.
