Would I Die for You?

Lisa R. Strong
Tears of shame flow down;
From my swollen eyes;
I have disappointed You again;
And I am still forgiven;
I have stepped away;
Yet You are right beside me;
My sweet Jesus Lord;
Would I die for you?
If you asked me to;
My heart burns with the fire;
That You have put inside;
Your praise is on my lips;
And Your Word is in my Heart;
But would I die for you?
If I had to choose;
Between life or certain death;
History is full of testimonies;
The blood of Your martyrs;
Shed for the love of You;
Would I?
Could I stand in their place?
And face imprisonment, torture, or even death?
And still proclaim You out loud;
In spite of all of my sufferings;
As my one and only Lord;
For the sake of my immortal soul;
I pray that I would rather die;
Than ever renounce You;
You are the air that breathes life to me;
For without You, I would be nothing.

    Darling, this has to be your best one yet. I am speechless, on the brink of tears; tears of sadness and rejoice both. You wholly found amazing in this one! And....once again, you found what I needed to hear today.
