Would you still love me?
If I were a weed and not a rose;
A clam without a pearl;
If I were a dancer with no grace;
Would you still love me?
If I had nothing at all to say;
A knife without an edge;
A diamond with no facets;
Would you still love me?
If no music could I make;
Or if my footsteps fall hard;
If my nose is a bit too large;
You envision me a beauty;
You love me sight unseen;
But would you still feel the same?
If you should meet me face to face;
A large heart encased in plainness;
Would you love me still?
Or would you be sadly disappointed?
