Wounded Warrior

Wounded Warrior

A word from above
As the night covers the land
Alone did the wounded warrior
Rise and stand.

Alone on the mountain top,
Riding the wind,
The lone warrior takes flight
To survey the land.

His eyes did see,
His ears did hear,
That sorrowful site
That was so near.

A cry from below,
Tears from above,
The Goddess and her warrior
Did weep for their loves.

Red with the blood
Of warrior did run
The lakes and streams
Of the lands of Jollun.

Jollun the bold,
Jollun the brave,
Jollun did weep
For the land he craved.

They fought like a
Mother protecting her child.
These brave warriors,
For their land so wild.

Brave and Fierce
and Loyal too.
Death and Pain
Their conquerors knew.

Land torn asunder
Fields all aglow
from the fires that raged
and the winds that blow.

Babies grow hungry
Children that cry
Wives and Mothers
and their lovers that died.

Old and Young
Rich and Poor
are all now feeling
pain not joy.

Across the land so wide
The lone warrior did fly,
Seeing fields that burn,
and hearing his Goddess cry.

Her tears did rain
onto the land
Quenching the fires,
The fires that brand.

Now the warrior did land upon the mountain top,
And gaze across the battle field.
And with sorrowful eyes and rain drenched hair,
his sword he did wield.
Upon himself.
