Wrap It Up knows there is still one day to this holiday, but let's see where we stand now and update later, if needed.
WEEKEND BO
1. "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" - $97 million over the three days. Total: $162.1 million
2. "Cars 2" - $25.1 million
3. "Bad Teacher" - $14.1 million
Source: Box Office Mojo
Notes: With one more day to go for their total holiday tally for "Transformer 3" it looks like it's close to nabbing $100 million over three days.
That was a three day Independence Day record for a soulless film about robots. And "Cars 2" dropped 62 percent meaning it may need a little more air in the tires. It seems as if people are turning off "Green Lantern" as well. What
happened there? "Larry Crown,' The Tom Hanks vehicle did make it to double digits with $13 million but ended up in fourth. That's not good but we can chalk that up to a bad release date for this type of film. And it's not that good. I still like "Super 8" as being the surprise hit of the year. Meanwhile,
"Bridesmaids" is now over $150 million and another surprise whopper of the year.
- We are the best and strongest nation in the world so enough scare tactics with the debt.
- When is it news and when is it strictly public relations.
- On September 23 will be the last "All My Children" and when people tune in to see it, you will hear, "Well, if they would have just watched, it would not have been cancelled." It doesn't work that way. See any food joint you loved that is no longer.
