Wray's Fins and Feathers is located at 7059 Depot Street in Olive Branch. This location is a mere few minute drive from Memphis, TN and once you visit, I am sure you will agree with me that it is worth the drive! The location is in Old Towne Olive Branch - close to Cockrum and Old Goodman Road. There is ample parking in front of the establishment as well as on the side for busier nights. Just be sure to make it down before closing time, which is 8 PM on Wednesday and 9 PM Thursday through Saturday. Wray's is only open until 2 PM for lunch on Sundays (and not open at all on Mondays and Tuesdays).
Wray's is a locally owned and operated business. When you enter the restuarant, you will see an old fashioned family type diner. The pictures and decorations on the walls are family pictures and the feel of the restaurant is very small town. The atmosphere is casual and very "homey". There is also an aquarium for the children to oooh and aaaah over.
Now, on to the most important aspect of the review - the food itself. Wray's offers a buffet of both catfish and chicken (hence the name - Fins and Feathers). I can honestly say that the catfish I had a Wray's is the best catfish, cooked to perfection, that I have ever experienced. The price of the buffet is $10.99 for adults $5.25 for children aged 4-10 (under 3 is free). The lunch buffet is priced at $9.99. Wray's buffet also features jalepeno hushpuppies, french fries, onion rings, okra, green beans, corn on the cob, and cole slaw. The jalepeno hushpuppies are a welcomed difference to normal hushpuppies, and the onion rings were just awesome. This was all some of the best home cooking food I have ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.
In my opionion, Wray's Fins and Feathers is one of the best restuarants in the Memphis area. For fresh catfish, this is definitely the place to go. The prices are reasonable, and the food is exceptional at Wray's. I give it 2 thumbs up and a perfect 10!
