Her angle of attack on the story was that anabolic steroids had to have played a part in the actions of Chris Benoit. Nancy Grace quoted the WWE in the statement that anabolic steroids did not play a part in the murders. She attempted to make a statement that the WWE would "of course deny the possibility."
The fans of wrestling became angered because of the fact that the police have announced that they are looking into the possibility that Chris Benoit had been giving the steroids to his child in an attempt to make him grow to average size for his age. Being a former lawyer, the WWE fans would have thought that Nancy Grace would have argued this case after researching it.
The fans were also outraged when she made the statement that Chris Benoit may have become upset when he was demoted from the Four Horsemen to Raw. The Four Horsemen was an organization that was disbanded years ago. Raw has been considered to be the premier brand for years.
In actuality, Chris Benoit had been sent to ECW, which was the training ground for the WWE. He was sent there to help train the new wrestlers to the company, and was reported to be very happy about this change.
Many of the forums are filled with people who stated that they tried to call in to the Nancy Grace show to point out the fact that there are many credible reports that point out that Chris Benoit may have planned this murder for a long time before. This was information that she did not have when her show aired.
The other issue that is lighting up the forums is the fact that anabolic steroids will cause an instant rage. Chris Benoit bound his wife before killing her. For the most part, this would rule out the chance for an instant rage.
Also, Chris Benoit killed his son many hours after killing his wife. This second murder pretty much rules out instant rage.
This is not the first time that Nancy Grace has come under fire for not having the full story. There are many people that will point to the Duke Rape Case as being Nancy Grace's major downfall. She spent many hours trying to accuse the students and prosecute them in the media. They were found not guilty on all of the charges.
This has been a very emotional case for many wrestling fans. They did not think that it was proper for Nancy Grace to make accusations and assumptions without having all of the information that was available.

Nancy Grace has no idea what she is even talking about when it comes to wrestling. Notice all the "guests" on her show happen to be ex-wwe wrestlers. Especially Marc Mero who hasn't seen the inside of a wwe locker room in how many years. I don't recall seeing him since he was in an angle with his ex-wife Rena Mero. She just had Chyna on her show, yet another wrestler who was released from her contract, they had no story line for her. Now lets talk about this alleged rampant drug use among pro-wrestlers, some probably do drugs, but not all of them. Why isn't she picking on other sports? When that baseball guy admitted to doing steriods where was all the media trying to shutdown baseball? What about football? Why isn't she going after body builders? They have muscles so therefore they must be doing steriods. I am sick and tired of the media feeding the general public stereotypes that all pro wrestlers are these amped steriod freaks. This is just another attempt by the media to give pro w
The worse part is the fact that Nancy Grace was a former prosecutor. She should know that a man is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not the court of public opinion. Why she's still on the air is a mystery in and of itself.
I agree with Dana I believe it was staged and that he was incapable of murder.
I am a firm believer Chris Benoit was set up. All the new facts tha t come out are pointing to him not doing it. They all had zantax in their systems and Chris wasn't on steroids at the time so how can he have had roid rage? Everyone who knew Chris said he wouldn't do it. The drug tests just proves more then that he didn't do it
My stepdad died at age 44. He was a former wrestler for NWA and Gunkle Enterprises. He wrestled under the names of The Destroyer and The Tenille Terror. He became a sickly man and took a hand full of medicine three times a day. I remember him talking about all of the pain killers that he was on. He always told us that he had to take all of that medicine in order to make it through the day. Wrestling took a lot out of him. He was also a referee. He is sadly missed. Wrestling is a tough career and sometimes they don't make it out without serious injuries or even death. Please help the wrestlers so they don't feel like they have to have the drugs to survive in this world. Not only do the wrestlers suffer from this, but the whole family suffers.
Nancy has always been a phony who will do anything for ratings. First we have the overdramatized story about the one and only love of her life having been murdered then we learn he might not have been so innocent afterall and she had overcome her sorrow years ago. If killing Melinda Ducket wasn't enough, now she has to trash an industry that she knows nothing about. Benoit was a mass murderer plain and simple. Sometimes these things can't be explained on a one hour phony news show.
Nancy Benoit's husband does need to be questioned. He has threatened Chris Benoit before. The bibles next to the bodies are strange as it seems to me a calling card at a murder scene.
I don't know which is more responsible for off-air deaths, pro wrestling or Nancy Grace. But the fact that her brand of reckless commentary has incited dedicated wrestling fans is amusing. I think Grace ought to be put in the ring to defend her position, see how that plays out.
By the way, good point about Sullivan. I've met him and spoke with him a number of times, and while I can't say he'd do something like this, he was absolutely mad about losing Nancy to someone he called "a half-baked upstart".
