Wrinkle Prevention Aids for Women

Thirty is the new twenty, my foot. The minute we blow out that last candle, our vigil begins. Every morning, and every time we pass a mirror, we are on the lookout for the appearance of the dreaded first wrinkle. Twice a day, every day, we apply creams and serums to keep the natural aging process at bay. In this never ending battle against the clock, women will spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on wrinkle prevention in their lifetimes. I suggest that every woman start an anti-aging fund while she is still young. While we do take every precaution like using sunscreen, not smoking, and drinking plenty of water, for the truly vain (me) or lazy among us, Botox, collagen injections, and face lifts are right around the corner. While you are putting away every spare penny so you can regain the illusion of youth, there are some everyday products that will help to prevent your skin from sliding off into oblivion.

Retinol. By far the best in over the counter wrinkle protection. There are many products that contain retinol on the market. They range in price from the relatively cheap, that can be found in pharmacies, to the extremely expensive ones found only online or in specialty stores. Decleor Vitaroma Wrinkle Prevention Eye Cream will cost you about $45.00, but it is worth it. While keeping new wrinkles at bay, it actually reduces the appearance of fine lines. I have also noticed a reduction in puffiness and dark circles.

Lavere Lifting Serum Hydro-Gel retails for about $89.00. It is intended for use morning and night, for the skin around the eyes and mouth. This lifting serum improves skin firmness, refinement, and complexion, by 90% and is well worth the cost.

A good exfoliating cleanser is a must have to remove dead skin cells and aid in the detoxification of our skin. Used at least three times a week, Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Ageless Daily Exfoliating Cleanser will help you maintain a fresh, youthful appearance. The best part is that this cleanser retails for under $10, and can be found at any drug store.

The best anti-aging moisturizer that I have found is Citrix Cream. It is a bit expensive at $52.00, but it really does combat the damage caused by free radicals. The formula contains 10% L-Asorbic acid to smooth fine lines and brighten skin.

Olay Regenerist is an excellent line of wrinkle preventatives. The Anti-aging Lip Treatment is the best wrinkle prevention lip treatment that I have found. It actually works to fill in the smaller lines and prevent new wrinkles. Unlike Sally Hansen's Line Smoothing Lip Treatment, this Olay product is not the slightest bit sticky. Olay Regenerist Anti-aging Lip Treatment will cost about $30.00 in any pharmacy.

For you neck and chest, I highly recommend the Borba Firming Neck and Decollete Cream. Many times we leave our neck and chest out of our wrinkle prevention regime, but the skin on the neck is the thinnest, and most susceptible to damage. For about $35.00 this cream will keep your neck and decollete from showing signs of premature aging.

Remember, wrinkles eventually happen to all of us, that is why the plastic surgeons are rolling in the dough.
