The Casio Analog Dress Watch is a simple watch with a rich blue face, three watch hands (hours, minutes, and seconds) and a traditional date display positioned at 3 o'clock. The case and band styling is a subtle mix of shiny and flat finished metals. The watch hands are shiny as are hashes for the hours. Despite its very simple nature, the Casio Analog Dress Watch has a number of very thoughtful design elements. For example, small numbers 13 through 24 back up the hash marks to help wearers easily convert to military time. For comfort, the case of this Casio Dress Watch is mildly flared on both sides to prevent the crown from irritating the wrist. The watch also has a slightly recessed crystal that is protected by a raised metal ring. The band is generously-sized compared to most inexpensive watches and fit my rather large (8 1/2 inch) wrist without problem. The band is secured by a push button deployment clasp. This clasp has buttons on each side for extra security. The clasp has a limited degree of adjustability with just a few adjustment holes.
Beyond style, Model MTP3050D-2AV Casio Dress Watches have rather impressive statistics for their price. According to the Casio USA website, the Casio Analog Dress Watch is water resistant to 50 meters and has a quartz movement (Module 2719) from Japan that is accurate to +/- 20 seconds per month. Casio also says that the watch measures 47mm x 41mm x 9.5 mm thick. I found the watch comfortable to wear and light enough to wear even while typing at a computer keyboard for an entire workday. According to Casio, the watch only weighs 128 grams. While the watch is substantial, this Casio fits easily under the cuff of a dress shirt. However, the best technical feature of the Casio Analog watch is the amazing 10-year battery life.
Have you ever tried to replace the batteries on a pile of inexpensive watches? You have to pry each case back off, pull out the battery without messing up any of the internal mechanism, read the battery, and then find a suitable replacement from your local dimestore. Then, you have to pray that you can re-assemble your watch. With a 10-year battery life, you won't have to worry about changing the Casio Men's Analog Dress Watch for a decade. With a decade of battery life, this Casio Analog Dress Watch is a wonderful alternative to an expensive automatic or solar-powered watch.
I enjoy wearing the Casio Men's Analog Wristwatch to work. It's an attractively styled, but unobtrusive watch. The Casio is a great watch for the $35 price point. It looks a little more substantial than my GameTime Agent Series Team Watch. However, the Casio Men's Analog Wristwatch is not a perfect watch. It does not have any lighting or glow in the dark hands or hour hashes for night time wear. On close examination, the stainless steel case can look a little cheap. Although the movement is from Japan, the watch is cased in China. This watch is not flashy and won't confer prestige on the wearer. Although the band is wide, the 1-inch (25mm) diameter face of this Casio is smaller than the 30mm faces of my more expensive Relic Analog Watches with LCD faces or my Relic "Wet" Multifunction Men's Watch. However, if you've ever had a quartz watch die on the same day you bought it, you'll overlook minor shortcomings for a 10-year battery.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this man's analog dress watch from Casio. It's a great business casual watch and it will look appropriate in any setting for at least a decade.
