Write Your Preschool Teaching Resume

Lisa Mooney
Teaching the youngest of students in a school setting is an important and professional vocation. While 4 year olds are still "babies," they are ready to begin learning all important academic material. Your role as educator is to be their first formal instructor. Getting the job of a preschool teacher is your first step and a professional preschool teaching resume can get you in the door.

Step 1

Put the vital information first. This includes your name, full address, phone numbers including cellular phone and email address. Use a Times New Roman 12 font for your preschool teaching resume.

Step 2

Introduce yourself to perspective employer. Be brief in giving your basic background information regarding education and experience. Also mention the main point about yourself that you want the employer to know. For example, you may cite your unique ability to creatively teach children with behavioral issues.

Step 3

Write your objective as the next part of your preschool teacher resume. The objective will inform your future boss as to how you will make an impact on the preschool. It will detail what you wish to accomplish in broad terms and how you will do it.

Step 4

List your prior achievements, awards and skills. Be specific and concise. For instance, you may note your communication abilities that your lesson plans are both effective teaching tools and fun for the children and that you are dedicated to providing a nurturing learning environment.

Step 5

Put in your specific degrees and certifications and where they came from as well as the date received. Do not add details in this section as you want the reader to be able to quickly scan for proper qualifications.

Step 6

Cite each of your previous employments from most recent to oldest. Give the name of the position, the dates you worked there, the name of the business, and what your responsibilities were.

Step 7

Print your completed resume on high quality white or cream paper in black ink. Make 25 copies which you will keep in a sturdy folder.

Tips
Keep your resume two pages or less.
Have someone proofread your resume for grammar and spelling issues as well as content.

Warnings
Do not list intimate detail regarding your height or weight or even your age.
Do not list your activities on social networking websites.
