Writers Block and Mercury in Sagittarius Retrograde Astrology

Intuitive Observations

If you're a disciplined writer who is sure to put something into words on a daily basis, you may have noticed something not quite right lately - astrology may have the explanation. As a perpetual student of astrology, there's always something new to discover especially when curiosity is in the forefront. Here's a new theory that goes to astrology and writing.

As per recommendations in the weekly moon sign astrology on this page, whenever the moon goes into Sag, an energetic oomph goes to the activities that Sagittarius is associated with. Sagittarius carries the half man, half horse symbolism. Portrayed with an arrow tautly poised in the string of a bow, its path of travel is aimed at a target.

As it were, the majority of signs that indicate a flow in communication and writing are dualistic. For instance, the half man, half horse symbolism of Sagittarius comes to the forefront of thoughts. In ancient astrology this sign is classified as dualistic, but somehow that faded away with more modern astrologers.

Another attribute of the Sagittarian mindset is awareness of small voices, and the presence of muses.

Moving on to the other dualists - Gemini is represented by the twins, and Pisces symbolism is two fish. This contributes to seeing two sides of an issue. Every story has two sides, and when focusing on a theme, it's good to be aware of the whole picture.

Lately, though, Mercury has been in Sagittarius going through forward and retrograde motion since October. Mercury, the messenger, is all about communication, travel, thinking, and writing. From personal experience and simple observation (in retrospect) the dualism inherent in this experience is compounded.

When direct, things are moving forward nicely. One example that may be applicable to this current retrograde period may be the Wiki Leaks. Arguments and harsh or misinterpreted words also indicate the retrograde energy.

The last two weeks of December highlight the Mercury retrograde energy in Sagittarius. A strong urge to get thoughts into writing underlies the writer's motivation. Enthusiasm for an idea may illuminate the thinking, but the activation is another story.

The same as conversations that are misinterpreted, the writing gets onto the page, but just seems to be garbled and unclear, or out of syntax. The enthusiasm gives the impetus to move forward. But in the reread, the awkwardness shows up.

Different than the ordinary writer's block where thoughts don't seem to surface, this energy is blocked after the fact of the ideation. Feeling bogged down and that an inordinate amount of time is consumed in finishing the story is a repeat theme during the retrograde Mercury astrology.

A lesson learned for this astrology buff - pay more attention to retrograde events especially with planet Mercury.

p.s. Don't forget to mention the relativity of Mercury transits in the moon sign astrology forecast.
