Too ignorant to write about the economy
Too unhip to write about fashion
Too skinny to believe my recipes are worth sharing
Too poor to eat in restaurants I'd like to review
Too annoyed to do anything but rant
Is my cell phone giving me brain cancer?
Are my children ingesting melamine?
Am I really saving the rainforests
By sending virtual-plants to Facebook friends?
Whine
I hate my job
I hate waiting in line
I hate picking up dirty underwear
I hate the cold, bitter wind
I don't want to pretend I'm a T-rex (sorry, kids)
Too busy ranting and whining, whining and ranting
Too busy reading stuff I could have written better
I'm a lazy snob!
Sick of worrying about SEO and keywords and ad-alignment
Shakespeare didn't worry about SEO
Didn't care if Hamlet could sell cars
Too philosophical
Too spiritual
Must calm my mind
Reclaim peace
Let go, let go, let go
Too tired
Too hungry
Too scared of success
Because I could be a success
Couldn't I?
If I didn't run away, full speed, screaming, crying
For more of the same old thing.
Smart
Creative people
Don't need to write
We have better things to do.
Excuse me

Post a CommentGoing way back again...not stalking you...just bored and love everything you write. I've been wondering why I have writer's block, and you nailed it. It's not a lack of ideas, but I have an actual fear of success, I think. I'm a bit shy and afraid to put some of my ideas out there. I think I just need to suck it up and do it! :)
Clever. Yeah, Shaky did okay. No doubt nowadays he'd be writing: Romeo and Juliet try out Barack Obama's SEX Farm. I mean, who would be desperate enough to devise a title anything like that?...
This is so clever. Great work. :-)
William Shakespeare would get NO PV's on here!
Who can't relate to this... Nicely written.
I think many of those thoughts have crossed my mind some time or other lol
Clever work on this one. I enjoy your perspective.
This is one of the best articles I've read on AC and I'm not just saying that.
This is so GOOD! You somehow got into my head and copied my thoughts, so I want 50% of everything you make in the great writing career you have ahead of you. (Too bad I didn't think of this first)
Writer's block?
I feel that once I get in that zone - I cannot be stopped.
I am like a sober Charlie Parker on the keyboard.
