Writer's Block (a Poem)

A Poem About the Frustration of Writer's Block

Gillian Wilk
Oh here I sit staring at a blank screen with no ideas and nothing to glean

I've searched the internet to no avail and now here I sit without a tale

What can I do to unclog my brain

If this keeps up much longer I may go insane.

I think it's time to step away from the computer and perhaps take a ride on my son's motor scooter.

Maybe acting like a child will get the juices flowing and perhaps it may help to get me going.

So wish me luck that I can get out of this rut and write a new article that will kick some butt.

I'm a work at home mom of 2 wonderful boys. I've worked for the past 7 years as a transcriptionist for a court reporter. I've always enjoyed writing, so that's what brought me here!  View profile

A challenge we all face from time to time. I guess the mind needs a little rest now and then and that's why we get writer's block. The brain's way of saying, "Give me a break!".
