Why are the a.m. hours so important for writers?
Sleep hopefully if done right is a relaxing experience which allows a window of opportunity for the sub conscience to flow through to your newly awakened brain which actually never shuts down completely
unless you happen to die in your sleep. This means you will be more open to honest writing. Self interview
will come naturally in the morning if you relax before bed and really get yourself ready for the new day.
I write at night and then again once I've gotten out of bed to open an ice coffee. Sometimes I can't stop writing long enough to go to bed.
Am I talking about creating novels, keeping a journal, writing lyrics and poems, essays, articles? Actually,
all of the above is optional. Sometimes I just make lists and written plans. If you think it, write it. There are no
limits.
If you're a moody morning person, write your first thoughts each day as you begin anew. You should begin to understand yourself. This is a great way to gain perspective and plot ways to change your life.
I'm a person who wakes up with stunning revelations nearly every single day. Aren't I lucky? Knowing you can journal your thoughts, feelings, theories and ideas as you begin again will do that for you too most likely.
Writing is really the most personal therapy you'll ever get in this life. Sometimes all we need to do is get it all out. It could be the negativity of others who have come into our lives or whom we were born to without any choice in the matter. Maybe we're hung up on old insecurities.
Whatever junk is hiding in the mental closet writing is a very productive way to empower and rebuild our inner psyches. You don't have to be a writer to write. If the desire is present to give it a try then by all means please take the risk that you might actually say something worthwhile. If no one else is listening at least take the time to remind yourself what's important in life. Save your inner truths in a folder or journal for looking back on later. You may be surprised what you wrote when for one moment you were someone else.
The hardships will come and go, but personal knowledge concerning what one wants in life is as priceless as it is ageless though ever changing and certainly worth going into.
