Writing Articles Fast: How to Write FAQ Articles

Dee Jones
Do you have an idea for an article? If so, you might be having trouble organizing your ideas. It's also possible that you know too much about your subject. When your head is filled with information, it can be hard to decide what should be included in your article, and what can be taken out.

Luckily, there is a type of article that even new article writers can pen with speed and ease.

FAQ articles.

Not only does writing FAQ articles help you to quickly organize all of your information, but FAQ articles are also pretty easy to write.

What Are FAQ Articles?

If you've spent any amount of time online, you've probably come across dozens of FAQ lists. In fact, almost every commercial website seems to have one.

FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions. And an FAQ list is a list of questions the owner of a website thinks a visitor might have, either about the site itself, the service the site provides, the site's subject, and so on.

If a site visitor has a question about something, all they have to do is go to the FAQ, look for their question, and read the answer provided.

FAQ articles operate under the same principal.

Preparing Your FAQ Article

One of the most intimidating parts of writing an article can be creating and organizing all of your information into an outline for it beforehand.

But, with an FAQ article, the outline almost seems to write itself.

Pull out a blank sheet of paper, or open a blank document in your text editor.

Think of the subject you are going to write about. If you were someone who was unfamiliar with the subject, and you had the chance to ask someone about it, what would you ask?

Write down this list of questions.

For example, say you were writing an article about cooking perfect spaghetti.

1. What's type of pasta should I use?

2. How should I prepare the water for the pasta?

3. How long should I cook the pasta?

4. How will I know when the pasta is done?

5. What kind of sauce should I put on the pasta?

Once you have your list of questions, organize them in a way that seems the most logical.

Filling In the Blanks

Now that you have your list of questions, all you have to do is write a paragraph or two answering each one.

If someone asked you the questions on your list, how would you answer each one in a way that was clear and could be understood even by someone completely unfamiliar with the topic? Then that's how you should answer each question in your article.

The Finishing Touches

Once you've answered all of the questions on your list, finish off your article by writing an engaging introduction, and a conclusion that summarizes the information you've just shared.

And, as simple as that, you've written an FAQ article.

Writing articles doesn't have to be an intimidating or complicated experiencing. By writing FAQ articles, you can quickly write articles that are clear, understandable, and filled with information your reader will find useful.

Great article! Very helpful. FAQ articles are great because they break bulks of info into small manageable pieces.
