The other well-known content producing website is constantcontent.com, but they do things a little different from AC. They do not pay for your articles upfront, when you submit an article, tutorials, or review you set the price for each type of licensing. They offer four levels of licensing, Free, Usage, Unique, and Full rights. The FAQ section of the website will explain the different between the types of licensing. No self-promotional articles will be accepted. They also have public and private request, I haven't figured out how to answer one of them yet.
Before you think about submitting any work to constant content, do your self a favor and check out their writers guidelines. They are very picky about them. Too picky if you ask me. I have yet to get any approved and put up for sale. The first rule is "All articles must be free of grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors", which I though mine were. When you get an email telling you your article has been rejected, it says to get details as to why it was rejected to go to the forum on the website. But, all you get there is "your email should tell you why". When I tried to get some help on there, the "highly-qualified editor" that responded to me was rude. Like, I was bothering him. Moreover, I was not the only one annoyed at the lack of help from the forum. The guidelines state that you can put up to three links in an article, but if you do, it gets rejected. On another place in the website is says you can only put links on "Free" articles, but they do not accept any "Free" articles any more. I do not think I will ever get any accepted since I told the "editor" that answered me on the forum I thought he was being rude. And, that they need to help us more. I have read some of what is on there and my article are just as good if not better. I wish they would tell me what it is that I am doing wrong, that gets them rejected. I figure it has to be something silly, like excessive spaces.
Each article submitted that is approved is run through CopyScape to detect any plagiarism, so do not think about doing anything like that.
If you have a blog or website, you can take advantage of the free articles that are still available (they are not accepting "Free" any more). They have a referral program, where you get 5% of all your referrals sales, taken from constant content's commission. Nevertheless, if your referrals cannot get anything accepted to be put up for sale, you will not make anything either.
If it was not such a pain to deal with them, this website could be a big money maker. I have read about people that make good money on there. I just wish I could too. Good luck!

Post a CommentI don't see the rudeness and pickiness. I joined about a week ago, submitted two articles, had them rejected. I made a topic on the forums and got a polite, valid reply - I was indeed in the wrong. Fixed the articles, resubmitted, and now they've been accepted. So I see them as pretty nice.
Tiffany, my experience at constant-content has been the exact same. I'm going to keep plugging away for the time being though (I've had three rejected so far). I think its really a great concept, but they can be rude and picky.
