Writing Online-The Nuts and Bolts

Earning extra spending money by writing online can mean a lot of investigation by you. So let's explore the nuts and bolts of writing online. There are many things to consider before you decide what web sites you wish to write on and if they are the right place for you. Yes, you need to have something of value to write for them, but the web site in turn needs to offer you value too.

It is possible to earn extra spending money by writing online. All week I have been researching websites to learn how to make some money by writing from my home. I have found that there is more to checking out websites than just whether they will pay you for an article. There are all kinds of factors that you must take into account.

Do you want to write for a company that suggests a title for you to write about or would you like the option of writing about the topic that you choose. Some companies have one option or the other and some give you a choice of both.

You need to take into consideration the time lines. If you are with a company that you choose the article from their marketplace and commit to writing it, how long do you have to get the job done? Or if an article needs to be re-written, how long before it needs to be returned to the editor?

Okay, you sat down and have finished writing your article taking care to spell check and reading it over and over again to check for great content and good value for your readers. The next question is how long will it take the editors to review you article and approve or disapprove it?

If you write for multiple websites you need to look at the minimum pay out amount. This means how much money you have to earn before they will write you a check or possibly deposit your money into a system like PayPal.

Then there's another factor that comes into play. If you write for multiple sites there all going to have different minimum pay out amounts, which means you still won't have all your money in your checking account at the same time. So I think it's best to concentrate on writing for just a couple of sites, so that you can achieve the minimum pay out amount sooner, rather than later.

What about the pay out date? All writing sites seem to have a different payout dates. Even if you have earned the money, until it's actually deposited into your account you don't really have it, do you? I have learned that to me it wouldn't be very beneficial to have to wait a long period of time for that pay out date.
So, it's well worth your time to answer some of these questions up front before you get started with a company.

How long once you have achieved the minimum pay out till your money is actually transferred into your account or PayPal? Some sites take any where from three to five days to transfer the funds.

What kind of a site do you want to write for? Are you looking for up front payments? Some sites don't pay up front, but instead give you a portion of Google ad revenue. This can build up significantly over time as passive income. Then there are some sites that pay you up front for the article and give you a portion of the Google ad revenue.

Many of these questions can be answered from reviewing the writing website you are considering. And you can gain much information from searching the company name on work at home forums such as what they may pay per piece up front and in general what it's like to work for that company from other freelancers that have had previous experiences with the company. I hope these nuts and bolts about writing online have given you some serious things to consider in researching where you wish to write.
