Writing What You Want to Write

With the popularity of the internet; literally anybody can become a writer these days.

The Internet

If you think that you're up to snuff, maybe you have what it takes. With writing sites on the internet these days all it takes to test out your writing skills is some knowledge of how to use the computer, the internet, and keywords.

Writing Websites

Writing websites are all over the place. The two that I mainly focus on these days is Squidoo and Associated Content. The reason that I like these two websites in particular is because I can write about anything that I want and I can make money doing it.

Building A Body Of Work

I may not be getting rich right now but, I'm building a body of work that will be on the internet for years to come. In that time, I will be able to focus on the topics that interest me and raise awareness for worthy causes. I'm also able to give back through the squidoo website, which allows me to donate part of my proceeds to charity; if I wish.

Writing Internet Content

The way to look at writing internet content; is that, you are developing your writing career; this is a long term investment of both your time and skills.

Opportunity

Writing internet content, provides you with the opportunity to see if there is an interest for what you have to say. You may have a cause that you'd like to raise awareness for and the internet provides you with a way to do that.

Platform

The internet gives anybody a platform from which they can spread their message.

What Do You Choose To Do?

I, for one, choose to spread a positive message because I think that the world has too much negativity in it. I've never achieved anything by being negative and I think the whole thing of being negative is a waste of time.

With that said, on to bigger and brighter topics.

Poetry

Poetry doesn't do well on Associated Content except maybe holiday poetry will get some views. I wrote a poem about Thanksgiving last year that got 300 views.

Squidoo

When you write on squidoo, you can insert pictures for visuals where you like, to further get your point across. Visuals are good for holding your readers attention and getting them more interested in your subject.

Showcase Your Work

If you're a writer and you want to showcase your work, you can do that through squidoo as well.

If you choose to write on squidoo, they have a forum that you will want to use because it will tell you anything and everything that you need to know about the site. (Include a link to squidu)

I like the flexibility that squidoo and Associated Content give me; so that I can write about a variety of subjects.
