As I get drenched;
From the pouring rain;
My heart is screaming;
In confusion and pain;
Words come quickly;
Water drips on paper;
Ink drops become a blur;
Like your face in my mind;
I can't phantom life alone;
As you leave me here;
To wrestle with memories;
And with my demons;
The night is much darker;
My chest heaves with sighs;
And it hurts from my grief;
As I try to read the words;
I have written in my own tears

As I try to read the words;

Very powerful poem Lisa. I really like it. :-)
Wow this is very profound.
Lisa You have captured the heart of emotions here. Another beautiful piece of writing, thank you.
You are collecting quite a list of new admirers! Especially in the ending lines, you've achieved almost perfect poetry. The thing you need in the pouring rain is an umbrella. What can become your new umbrella? Images of children playing in playgrounds? Images of the city's changing vista as it moves with the seasons? Comical strangers on the bus-line? Everyone does best with a sturdy umbrella.
Wow, I had to take a deep breathe.very emotional, and very well written.good write.alterz.
How beautifully sad.
