WWE Bragging Rights Pay Per View 2009 Predictions

May Contain Bragging Rights Spoilers. Yes, I'm that Good at This

Expert Predictions and spoilers for Bragging Rights, WWE's October 25, 2009 Pay-Per-View event. Which WWE brand will reign supreme and claim bragging rights over the other? Is this the night that sees John Cena leaving WWE Raw to join SmackDown? Might we see Brett Hart returning to help the Hart Dynasty? Will this be the ppv Teddy Long gets fired by Vince McMahon?

Yet another October pay per view from WWE is upon us. How many PPV events can World Wrestling Entertainment throw at us before we all just give up. It is common knowledge that scads of people are not buying the tickets and are instead searching the internet for live updates for Bragging Rights (or any other pay per view). Even though WWE is trying to stop them, there are people live streaming Bragging Rights on the internet. Well, not me. I'm too honest for that. Even though the majority of WWE PPV are lackluster, I still can't bring myself to steal. I'd rather make some kickass predictions and see how well I do. My record speaks for itself. Though I'm not perfect, I don't miss much.

Bragging Rights Tag Team Match: Team SmackDown vs. Team Raw

After a power move by Chris Jericho, Team SmackDown has 5 new faces (and I don't mean "good guys"). Representing WWE SmackDown brand will be Chris Jericho, Kane, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Finlay, Matt Hardy and R-Truth. They will compete against Team Raw's Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston. I admit that I loved the setup for this 14 man tag match. It will end as chaos in the ring on Sunday, but the confrontations, shoots, and an accentless Kofi Kingston on Raw and Smackdown have been priceless. The only thing missing is Ted DiBiase. We all know he's about to turn face, but he's not even on this card. Oh well, maybe Ted DiBiase will turn face on Raw next Monday.

Back to the tag match.

Team Raw is certainly the most hyped team. They have a distinct size advantage over SmackDown. They also have the "it" factor. Now don't get me wrong, I like Finlay as much as the next guy, but does anybody really give a rip about anyone on that team excepting maybe Chris Jericho? Chris is my favorite WWE superstar, and I'll cheer for him to win, but in the end I don't see his team winning without some help. That brings me to my prediction. I see Big Show turning on his Raw teammates to help SmackDown win. In the end, JeriShow prove just why they are the most dominant tag team in sports entertainment today. The switch to a better-known SmackDown team just adds some credibility to their victory.

Predicted Result: Team SmackDown wins the Bragging Rights 14 Man Tag Team Match.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker vs. CM Punk vs. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio (Fatal Four Way Match)

I don't see this being anything more than a way to solidify Undertaker as World Champion. It's way too soon for him to lose the title. This will fuel the fire for CM Punk to feud with Taker. Batista and Mysterio are just added for storyline. I don't see them having any real role here unless they happen to be one of the guys who gets pinned. This match is about Undertaker and CM Punk. There will be some referee shenanigans. Of that I have no doubt. It's just not time yet to set up Undertaker vs. Vince at Wrestlemania. Way too early. I also see Batista possibly returning to Raw soon. Mysterio is there because WWE needs to remind fans that he's back from his suspension.

Predicted Result: Undertaker wins the fatal four way match and retains the World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE Championship Match: WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena (One Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match)

Yet another Cena Orton matchup. I'm so tired of these matches I get sick just thinking about. Yet, here we have the hope that it will all end. Once again I must remind all Cena drones that I don't like smilin' invincible John Cena. They might as well blare "I am a real American . . . ." over the loudspeakers while Cena cups his ears to the crowd and poses for photos. C'mon. This isn't 1988 anymore. Wrestling fans want parity and fresh content. You cannot make a man invincible. Sunday night at Bragging Rights, at least some of us will get our wish.

I have my doubts that both men can sell an hour long bloodbath. They might as well have said "falls count anywhere" because I see that happening. In the end, however, there can be only one winner. Get ready for a new major face to attempt to inject life into SmackDown's lifeless corpse. Randy Orton is going to pick up the win and open the door for his feud with Ted DiBiase.

Predicted Result: Randy Orton defeats John Cena in the Iron Man Match and retains the WWE Championship belt.

Intercontinental Champion John Morrison vs. United States Champion The Miz

I'm conflicted with this match because I have affinity for both wrestlers. The Miz can work a mic quite well. He has a great knack for getting the crowd into his shoots and matches. John Morrison, on the other hand, is a superb in-ring performer. He has skills Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho would have loved to have had 10-15 years ago. Now, nobody has really said anything about this, but I have been pushing for WWE to consolidate the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. The easiest way to do that is to have a matchup like this. However, unless something is announced during the WWE PPV, that's not going to happen. In fact, if they were going to do that, they should announce it weeks ahead so they can sell a few more pay per view licenses.

Strangely enough, this is the purest form of a Bragging Rights match on the whole PPV. Talk versus Talent. Miz versus Morrison. Miz is no slouch. He's going to put up a great fight. I do not see him winning this match though. Morrison is getting a bigger push to try and elevate SmackDown. If that fails, we may see Miz traded to SmackDown or John Morrison traded to Raw so they can feud. It won't happen that soon though, as Miz and Mr. Ziggles are not done yet. The Shaman of Sexy wins.

Predicted Result: John Morrison defeats The Miz and wins Bragging Rights over his former tag partner.

Raw Divas vs. SmackDown Divas Tag Team Match

There has to be at least one WWE Divas match, right? Aren't we paying these women to do something? WWE Women's Champion Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix and Natalya will represent Team SmackDown, while Team Raw will include Divas Champion Melina, Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim. Yawn.

It's hard to say what I like about this matchup. The Divas tag match is obviously the token women's wrestling match for the card. I really like Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix. Not only are they easy on the eyes but they are pretty good in the ring. The rest of those Divas do not interest me in the least with their looks or their "talent" as wrestlers. I guess Melina has some skill, but it's apparent to me that she's lost a step. Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim are horrible wrestlers. Natalya might be Jim Niedhart's daughter and look a hella lot better than the Anvil in a bikini, but she's no top tier wrestler. I guess I really don't care who wins. Perhaps the Raw Divas need something to cheer about and SmackDown Divas need a reason to blame one another and feud.

Predicted Result: Team SmackDown wins the Divas Bragging Rights match.

These are my stone cold locks for the PPV. If you think you can do better, go ahead and submit your picks in the comment field.

Not too bad. You missed a couple, but I didn't see the Big Show angle like you did. Next time, I'm going to submit my guesses and see if I can't beat your ass.
