McCool was born in the small town of Palatka, Florida on January 25, 1980. She was not always planning to be a wrestler, and was actually a school teacher previous to her wrestling career. She was, however, a huge wrestling fan thanks to several people in her family. In 2004, McCool decided to enter the WWE Diva Search contest and did quite well. She did not win the contest, however. Still, McCool won a developmental contract with the WWE and found herself toiling around in the Deep South territories to learn the trade.
After years of struggling through the "minor leagues" of professional wrestlng, McCool found herself on Smackdown in 2006. This began her slow climb up the ranks of the WWE Divas division, and to where she is today. In 2008, McCool became the first ever winner of the Divas Championship, and has pretty much held some type of title ever since. It has been very rare since then that Michelle went without some type of gold. This is also around the time that she "turned heel" and the turn did her well. Michelle McCool has excelled at being the bad girl, and the championships prove that fact.
Currently, Michelle made news by getting married to "The Undertaker" in real life, as well as her team up with Layla to form Team Lay-Cool. These two women have been considered the "Mean Girls" of Friday Night Smackdown for some time now, and they are constantly in the championship scene. Having aligned herself with Vickie Guerrero, Michelle McCool became a power player on the Smackdown wrestling scene. She has had several Championship reigns, having held both the Divas championship as well as the Women's World Heavyweight Championship. She also was the first unified champion in Diva history, having won the DIva's championship and World Title at the same time. Most recently Team Lay-Cool lost the championship to Natalya, but you can be sure that McCool will be back in the championship scene again soon.
