The show opened with CM Punk coming out to a huge ovation in front of a rabid Indianapolis crowd. After soaking up the overwhelming response, Punk addressed the crowd declaring that the "champ is here!" He then sat Indian style in the middle of the ring and explained that he loves the place he works just not the people he works for. He then said that he took the approach of speaking his mind, and caused some real change. He said that a lot of the credit goes to the fans who forced the change with him. He was there to make things fun again, and wouldn't have the crowd be fed the status quo scraps anymore. He then admitted that he realized that he made the call to get his job back because he couldn't get the business back to the way it should be from his couch in Chicago. He then chastised John Cena for parading around with just a belt, while what he has is a championship title. He said the tournament that was held meant nothing, because he holds the most important belt in the world. He was interrupted by Triple H coming to the ring to confront Punk. Triple HHH said that he would explain why he resigned Punk. He said the reason he did so was the same reason he brought JR and John Morrison back, it was good for business and its what the people wanted. He said despite his personal feelings, he resigned Punk. Punk tried to insist that Triple HHH elaborate on his personal feelings. Triple H said that he thought he was overrated, smug, arrogant guy who puts too much into his own stock. Punk asked if it was like looking in a mirror. Punk then brought up names of several wrestlers who Vince let go (Batista, Brock Lesnar, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho). Punk then said that Triple H couldn't afford to see Punk go anywhere. Triple H then said that since they are telling the truth, he wants Punk to admit why he really resigned, and though Punk said that he already did, Triple H said that Punk resigned for himself, because the microphone, Punk's "pipe bomb", wouldn't do much if no one could hear it. Triple H said that Punk is a champion, and so is Cena, and he would remedy that situation tonight. Punk stopped him from leaving and unleashed an accusatory tirade about Triple H being a bully and an ego maniac, and the new job he has doesn't change that fact. Triple H said he took the job that he took for the fans, and he may not like the rules either, but he will follow them, and suggested that Punk doesn't break the rules either. Punk then asked: "Or What?!" He questioned what Triple H would do about it, and flinging his own tie in his face, asked what Triple H would do about it, and if he would make the decision himself or ask his wife first. He then threw the microphone down after exclaiming: "Pipe bomb!" He then left the ring leaving Triple H standing in it.

Match 1: Divas Battle Royal (for #1 contender for the Diva's championship)

The eliminations happened very quickly, until it came down to Alicia Fox, Eve, the Bella Twins, Natalya and Beth Phoenix. While Eve and Alicia battled on one side of the ring, the Bellas eliminated Natalya and double teamed Beth. The final five stayed in the ring for several minutes. Alicia tried to elevate Eve over the top rope but Eve landed on the apron. Alicia charged Eve to hit her with a sliding drop kick but Eve pulled herself up on the ropes, and Alicia slid to the outside, getting eliminated. After that one of the Bella twins eliminated Eve by dumping her over the top rope. In the mean time, Beth lifted the other Bella twin on one arm, and picked up the other on the other arm in a stunning display of strength, dumping them both over the top rope. Kelly Kelly, who was at ringside at the announce position, ran into the ring to hug Beth and congratulate her. Beth hugged her back, but then grabbed Kelly by the hair and whipped her violently to the outside. Beth followed her to the outside where she threw Kelly into the barricades, and grabbed a microphone, telling Kelly that her days as the perky blond bimbo were over.

Winner: Beth Phoenix

In the back, R-Truth approached the Miz and told him that they were the same because he agreed that Triple H being in charge is a huge mistake. Miz said that because of Triple H, there are two WWE champions, and neither one deserves the title. R-Truth asked if this reminded the Miz of a conspiracy. The Miz had to pause, but then told R-Truth that he didn't have to share his crazy viewpoints just because they were partners tonight. R-Truth told Miz to be careful because one of these days, The Miz would "get got".

Josh Matthews interviewed John Cena in the back. Cena said he is awaiting Triple H's decision tonight and would be out in the ring to hear it up close.

Match 2: The Miz & R-Truth v. Rey Mysterio & John Morrison

After being double teamed, Rey escaped to tag in Morrison who hit the Miz with a drop kick and R-Truth with a flipping side slam. He then tried the Starship Pain, but the Miz pulled R-Truth out of the ring. R-Truth went back in the ring, but was hit from behind and went for the 619, but the Miz yanked him to the outside and threw him over the barricades. As the Miz went to get back in the ring, he was kicked by a spinning jump kick by Morrison and knocked to the floor. When Morrison turned around however, he was blindsided by R-Truth hitting him with a face buster, and getting the winning pin. After the match, the Miz came into the ring and hit Morrison with the Skull Crushing Finale. R-Truth came into the ring with a bottle of water, and as the Miz held Morrison up, R-Truth hit him with the bottle of water across the head.

Winners: The Miz & R-Truth

In the back Triple H was interviewed and said that CM Punk dropping some big bomb about his wife, and said its lame because he has heard this for ten years. He then recommended that tonight Cena keep whatever he does strictly business.

Vicki Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler came to the ring, and Vicki said that while there are two WWE champions, the man who is far superior to both, Ziggler, has been overlooked. Ziggler then said that no one will have his talents or charisma. He said he was more of a man than anyone in the locker room. This prompted Alex Riley to come out. Riley asked if Ziggler is such a man, why does he always have behind Vicki Guerrero. Vicki listed off the title that Dolph has held thanks to her. Riley asked Dolph when was the last time he accomplished anything on his own. Riley then said that if Dolph wants to be a real man, he should drop Vickie, or does Dolph fear being exposed as a bleached blond, arrogant fraud. Dolph stepped back and told Vicki to back up and take his jacket. He took off his belt, loosened his tie, and slid out of the ring, as Vicki followed.

Match 3: Santino & Zakk Ryder v. David Otunga & Michael McGullicutty

After Otunga pulled Santino, who was wearing a green cobra sleeve on his arm, to the outside, Ryder missed his jumping legdrop finisher, and was lifted off the mat by McGullicutty. Otunga tagged in off of McGullicutty's back and dropped Ryder with a neck breaker. Otunga then covered Ryder for the win.

Winners: David Otunga & Michael McGullicutty

CM Punk was interviewed backstage and said that he was only testing Triple H earlier tonight, and Triple H passed with flying colors, so from now on he expects their relationship to be strictly business. He then said that he and Cena had one of the best WWE championship matches of all time at Money In The Bank, but in the end, Cena lost, so he, Punk, is the legitimate champion.

Match 4: Alberto Del Rio v. Evan Bourne

As Bourne grounded Del Rio and went up to the top rope for the Air Bourne, Del Rio jumped up and kicked Bourne in the head, knocking him to the mat. He then locked in an arm bar submission on Bourne, who quickly tapped out. After the match, he would lock in another arm bar submission on Bourne and would not let go, even at the insistence of the ref. Kofi Kingston came out to ringside, chasing off Del Rio and Roberto Rodriguez.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Triple H came to the ring and told the crowd that he thought about this decision for a long time. Because there are two legitimate champions, for the first time in WWE history, he was going to....but before he could get the words out, John Larinitis came to the ring. Triple H asked him what he wanted and Larinitis said that the decision Vince would have made is to strip the championship from John Cena. This prompted Cena to come to the ring. Cena said that Larinitis has been Vince's right hand for 10 years, because all he is is a yes-man. And Cena said that he knows that he wants him stripped because at MITB Cena punched his teeth out. Cena told Triple H, that if he loses the title thats fine, but he won't be stripped off of it. Larinitis said that he wants the title stripped because Punk beat him. Cena said that his favorite moment of that show was punching Larinitis in the face, and he figured he'd do it again. Larinitis backed out of the ring. Triple H said that he won't strip Cena of the championship. At this point, Punk's music played and CM Punk headed to the ring. Punk said that he sees the writing on the wall, and since Cena is not being stripped, it means Punk will be stripped? Triple H then said it would be settled at Summerslam, where John Cena would meet CM Punk where the two would meet to determine the undisputed WWE champion. After Triple H left, Cena and Punk both stood in the ring quietly. Then Punk took off his title and raised it in the air, as his music played. Cena then raised his belt as his music kicked in. Punk headed to the corner, climbed the ropes and raised his belt. Cena followed suit, and the music once again changed to his. The show closed out with both men standing on the middle ropes in adjacent corners raising their belts, as the music changed from one's to the other's.
