Melina (c) vs. Michelle McCool (c) (w/ Layla) for the Divas and Women's Championship: First match of the night will likely be the Divas Unification match between Melina and one member of Team LayCool in a lumberjack match. This match has been building for the past few weeks, with Team LayCool attacking Melina after her victory at SummerSlam. Last week on the 900th episode of Monday Night Raw, Team LayCool proposed this match for the unified women's championship and Melina accepted. Prediction: Melina picks up the victory with help from the lumberjacks to become the first unified women's champion in the new decade, but this feud is long from over.
Triple Threat Match - The Hart Dynasty (c) vs. John Morrison and R-Truth vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship: Next match will be The Hart Dynasty defending their WWE Tag Team Championship. While no match has been announced yet for Night of Champions, there was a #1 contenders match on last week's RAW between Rhodes and McIntyre vs. Morrison and R-Truth that ended in a no-contest and left no #1 contenders for the belt. It is unlikely that the tag team title match will be one-on-one, with all the current teams in the WWE. Prediction: John Morrison and R-Truth take the victory to win their first WWE Tag Team Championship as a team together.
Fatal Four Way - Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. Christian for the Intercontinental Championship: Third match of the night will be Dolph Ziggler defending his Intercontinental title. For the past two months, Ziggler has been feuding with Kofi Kingston, the man who he won the IC title from. Kofi has been close in regaining the belt that he used to have, but every time he is close, either Ziggler gets himself disqualified, counted out, or Vickie Guerrero interferes. While the match could be one-on-one with Ziggler and Kofi, there are other wrestlers that are too good, not to be used on this card. Prediction: Dolph Ziggler retains the title after pinning Kofi Kingston clean.
The Miz (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the United States Championship: The fourth match will be The Miz defending the United States Championship against Daniel Bryan. The Miz has not defended his United States title on TV or PPV in a long time, and has focused more of his attention on trying to cash his Money in the Bank briefcase to become the WWE Champion. The feud between Miz and Bryan started when Bryan made his shocking debut at the SummerSlam PPV and took Miz's spot on the team. Miz retaliated by hitting Bryan with the case and eliminating him from the match. Recent weeks have seen both competitors taking shots at each other, with Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale and Bryan putting Miz in his submission hold. Prediction: Daniel Bryan becomes the new United States Championship after making Miz submit in one the best matches of the night.
Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship: The co-main event of the night will see Kane defending his World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker. This feud was restarted at the SummerSlam PPV when The Undertaker returned from his "vegetative state" to attempt to attack Kane, but his attack was reversed and he was tombstoned due to his weakened state. Weeks later, Kane revealed that he was the mystery attacker of Taker's, leading to more tension. It all boiled over on the 900th episode of Raw, with Nexus taking out The Undertaker with help from Kane. This matchup is likely to be announced for the card on this week's SmackDown. Prediction: Kane retains his World Championship after he defeats an Undertaker that is not 100 percent yet.
Six-Pack Challenge - Sheamus (c) vs. Wade Barrett vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship: The main event of the night will be Sheamus putting his title on the line in a six-pack challenge against Wade Barrett, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and John Cena. This was the first match announced for the Night of Champions card, two weeks ago on Raw. Sheamus defended his WWE championship against Zack Ryder in a match that lasted eleven seconds. He thought that he had the next 30 days off until Wade Barrett came out and said he was cashing in his world championship opportunity that he won, when he was announced the winner of NXT season one. The anonymous GM then put the other four members into the match, making it a six-pack challenge for the title. Prediction: Wade Barrett wins his first world title when Nexus interferes in this match, taking everyone out but their leader Barrett.
