Here are the pros and their rookies:
Pro: Kelly Kelly
Rookie: Naomi
Pro: The Bella Twins
Rookie: Jamie (the former NXT ring announcer)
Pro: Goldust
Rookie: Aksana
Pro: Primo
Rookie: AJ
Pro: Vickie Guerrero
Rookie: Kaitlyn
Pro: Alicia Fox
Rookie: Mazine
Now, before the season even got started, there was friction between Vickie and her rookie Aloisia. So, Vickie fired her. You can find out more about that drama here: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/vickiealoisia
In some ways, it's more like a beauty pageant. The interesting thing is that Vickie is acting like The Miz did during season 1 by berating her rookie on not giving a good a good introduction. So she made her do it again. Geez!
The crowd in my hometown and current city of Baltimore seems to favor Aksana after all of the introductions.
My early favorite is Jamie as she is already at home in front of the camera and the microphone and is probably the most athletic out of all of the rookies. Naomi is the only African American rookie and she has a very impressive resume. Let's see if her pro, Kelly Kelly, can make her the next breakout diva.
The first elimination will be in four weeks and the rookie who wins the most challenges will be immune from elimination. But the first challenge is a dance competition? Huh? And the poor ladies had to dance with announcer Michael Cole. So sad. Then announcer Tony Chimel? Now on to announcer Josh Matthews, a former "Tough Enough" contestant (the show The Miz won to earn his contract with the WWE). And the winner is Naomi.
The first match of the season will be a tag team match.
Tag Team Match: Kelly Kelly and Naomi v. Alicia Fox and Maxine
Winners: Kelly Kelly and Naomi
I am impressed by the athleticism of Naomi in the ring (despite her clashing ring attire) and her ability to work with her pro to bring home the win.
The next rookie challenge? A capture the flag race. This should be interesting. The winner is Naomi, again. What a great showing!
Mixed Tag Team Match: Goldust and Aksana v. Primo and AJ
Winners: Primo and AJ
I wish I could say that I was surprised by that win, but I'm not. It was a quick match.
But then Vickie comes out dragging Kaitlyn by the arm to do her introduction again. Primo is not happy about that. Even AJ told Vickie to leave. Vickie then orders Kaitlyn to attack AJ, which she does, reluctantly, and AJ sends Kaitlyn into Vickie knocking them both down. Vickie screams and leaves the ring and stage area with a frightened Kaitlyn trying to apologize.
What a way to start the season! WWE NXT airs every Tuesday night on SyFy at 10 pm EST.

Post a CommentI think Naomi needs new ring gear. Can Kelly Kelly help her out on that? But seriously, my favorites right now are Jamie, Kaitlyn and AJ. Any insights as to why Michael Cole walked out on last night's episode?
NAOMI WILL WIN HANDS DOWN
