World Wrestling Entertainment aka WWE also will no longer be known as WWE. There was a meeting held on March 31, 2011 and it was a unanimous decision that WWE will go change its name for the first time since 2002. This name change is being made because the CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon is giving his best effort to remove the word known as "wrestling" from his company. It is also widely assumed that is also being done because he wants everyone that's dislikes "WWE" to develop new perspectives (invest in WWE), and finally more money from new lanes that he has never encountered. There is no word when this new name change will occur, but we will know because they will shove it down our throats with heavy promotion. This will anger a lot of people that the program they watch regularly will no longer be referred to as the WWE. No reason to complain, as long as they provide good storylines and great "wrestling" matches.

Post a CommentI hope they don't change the name. I think it's fine the way it is.
Thank you for the comment. What really sucks is it falls through and then HBK is announced for the Hall of Fame. But a few of us are going to try for Wrestlemania 30 if it's in NYC, because that's within driving distance of Maryland.
I hope they do not remove the word “wrestling†from the WWE. I know the athletes are called superstars instead of wrestlers, but taking “wrestling†out of the WWE name does not seem like a great idea. If Vince wants a side entertainment business for people to invest in. He should create that side business rather than change the WWE.
