WWE Star and UFC Heavyweight Champ Brock Lesnar Sick, Out Indefinitely with Mono

The UFC had hoped that Brock Lesnar, the former WWE superstar and current UFC Heavyweight Champ, would be back soon to fight against Shane Carwin, his top challenger.

With talk of Lesnar taking on the fellow giant heavyweight Carwin for the title and also dreams of Lesnar some day fighting Fedor Emelianenko, the Strikeforce Heavyweight Champ and MMA legend, many were eager to see Brock Lesnar return from his illness.

But Lesnar is sick with mono and perhaps something even worse as Dana White has said that he has been hospitalized and is out of action indefinitely. The UFC is now scrambling to find more big names for its upcoming big events, seeking to keep the buzz going that Lesnar and Carwin would have created at UFC 106 before Lesnar came down with mono.

Does Brock Lesnar Have Mono or an Even Worse Sickness?

Dana White recently told The LA Times that Lesnar had a "serious" sickness and that he would be out indefinitely. The talk of Lesnar being sick with mono and missing UFC 106 was bad enough but it could be even worse and that could be tough for the UFC to deal with, especially now that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has withdrawn from UFC 108 vs. Cain Velazquez with a staph infection.

Right now, however, the main issue for the UFC is to make sure Lesnar gets healthy just to live a nornal life again with fighting secondary.

Lesnar reportedly went to Canada to relax from his home in Minnesota and to recover from his bout with mono. But he ended up collapsing and being rushed to the hospital according to White and now the uncertainty is palpable surrounding the UFC's biggest pay-per-view draw.
