WWE TLC Results 2009 Predictions
WWE TLC Spoiler Alert: I Can See the TLC Match Results Before They Even Happen
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Sheamus (Tables Match)Sheamus gets his title shot. First Irishman to have a decent crack at the title. Too bad WWE makes so much money off of Cena merchandise. As much as I'd like to see John Cena drop the title (and wouldn't we all?), it's just not going to happen. Sheamus sees his push end similar to what they did with Umaga's character. After several close calls, Cena puts Sheamus through a table to retain the belt. If the writers are smart, they would let Sheamus pick up the belt and feud a while - OR - let Orton challenge Sheamus at the next PPV, pick up the belt and have another Cena v Orton Wrestlemania. That actually sounds like something they would do. But not this time.
Tables Match Result: John Cena def. Sheamus and retains the WWE Championship
Batista vs. World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker (Chair Match)Batista is a badass. We all know it because we have seen him beating up the powerful and equally large Rey Mysterio. Listen, folks, there is no way in Hell that Taker will drop the belt to Batista in a December PPV. I won't be surprised when Rey Mysterio interferes with the Match and delivers a 619 while a chair just happens to be in front of Batista's face. In the end, it's all Undertaker.
Chair Match Result: Undertaker def. Batista and remains World Heavyweight Champion.
Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. D-Generation X (Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match)
Poor DX. They've never had a run as Tag Champions. Does it even make sense for them to get the belts? Not really, but it would open up new storylines for a feud with Legacy. I forsee Jericho and Show parting ways either to feud each other or to pursue other storylines. I've also read promos for Jericho getting a title shot, which he deserves more than anybody in the world because he is the best in the world at what he does. That being said, I think it's really a writers coin flip. If they give DX the belt, they're not going to keep it long. Michaels has already said he's taking several months off after Wrestlemania this spring. Can't do that with a belt. Oh, but that's at least 3 months away.
TLC Match Results: DX def. Big Show and Chris Jericho to win the Unified Tag Team Championship.
Intercontinental Champion John Morrison vs. Drew McIntyre - Intercontinental Championship Match
I like Drew McIntyre. He reminds me of a young skinny HHH. He has good in ring presence and is learning mic skills. John Morrison is one of the best ring workers I've seen in a while with great agility and move lists. Morrison can also work the mic very well. Fans have put him over. I gotta admit, I'd love to see McIntyre get the belt. It's not like there is a whole ton of John Morrison merchandise dollars at stake. Give McIntyre the belt and let him gloat. He's good at that. Then, for Pete's sake, Drew, work on your finisher. I'm going out on a limb here.
Intercontinental Championship Match Results: Drew McIntyre def. John Morrison to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship Belt.
Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton
Token match to keep Randy Orton in the spotlight and to give a push to Kofi Kingston. Look. I don't like Kofi, even though the accent bit was funny. He is a great wrestler. I just don't get behind his character yet. Maybe he'll grow on me. Randy Orton, on the other hand, is one of my favorites. He exudes confidence (and arrogance) which makes for great heat. His in ring skills are great also, with the ability to command the pace and help make sub par wrestlers look good. This is a token match with a predictible result.
Result: Randy Orton def. Kofi Kingston to retain bragging rights?
ECW Champion Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin (Ladder Match)
I can't even watch ECW anymore. It is a snorefest. I'm wating on them to close the doors and either turn that slot into something akin to Tuesday Night Titans (anybody else remember that show?) or scrap it altogether and follow my proposed plan to consolidate and improve the overall WWE product. WWE, hire me! I kinda think that this belt is the only reason Christian stays in ECW. It is his consolation prize for sticking on this horrible program. If he loses, expect him to respectfully request to leave ECW and make a title run on another brand. But he won't lose. Every PPV Christian Wins.
Ladder Match Result: Christian def. Shelton Benjamin and retains ECW Championship Title
WWE Women's Champion Michelle McCool vs. Mickie James
Michelle McCool is growing on me. Not only is she beautiful, but she actually has talent as a wrestler. Michelle excels on the mic. Mickie James has talent and beauty, but I have to root for the "bad girl" here. I'm no fan of the piggie james angle, but boy was it effective in generating heat for this match. I see this being a good fight with plenty of on camera emotion. I also expect Layla to get involved somehow. That's why I believe McCool retains and lives to gloat another day.
Result: Michelle McCool def. Mickie James and retains WWE Women's Championship.

You only missed one. Hell, dude. Nobody would have guessed Sheamus to win the title so soon.
You have a gift, my Irish friend.
