Alan Donahue
The lifestyle of WWE wrestlers sadly has led to many premature deaths in the business. reasons for death have varied between many of these competitors, but for the majority of these WWE wrestlers, their lives have ended way too soon. In just a decade, the WWE has lost more than 5 former champions from 2000-2010. Here is a look at some of the more memorable wrestlers who have died in the 2000s.

Chris Beniot: This Canadian wrestler said little on the microphone to reveal his true personality, and he obvious hiding something because in 2007, Beniot ended his own life after killing both his son and wife. Beniot was a former WWE champion and won his first WWE heavyweight title by winning the Wrestlemania XX main event. His WWE career has been tainted by his murderous end of life.

Mr. Perfect: Curt Henning was best known as the all-American "Mr. Perfect" character. As Mr. Perfect, Henning would throw passes to himself, hit homeruns with ease, and defeat numerous opponents in the ring including Hulk Hogan and Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Sadly, Mr. Perfect passed away, but his legacy will be forever remembered in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Yokozuna: One of the WWE's largest champions, Yokozuna passed away due to health issues in 2000. He was a former WWE Champion who defeated Bret Hart at Wrestlemania IX and the Undertaker at the 1994 Royal Rumble. He also held the tag team championship with the late Owen Hart.

Umaga: Yokozuna's distant relative, Umaga, also met his demise in late 2009. Umaga never captured the WWE title, but he did capture the Intercontinetial title and feuded with WWE superstars like C.M Punk, John Cena, and Ric Flair. His last WWE match was at the 2009 Extreme Rules and a few months later he was found dead.

Big Bam Bigelow: Always deserving of the WWE title, Bam Bam Bigelow achived more fame in ECW, but he still left his mark on the WWE. He has memorable battles with Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, and in the main event of Wrestlemania XI where he took on New York Giants player Lawerance Taylor.

Hawk: One half of the Legion of Doom, Hawk was an innovative and historical WWE tag team champion. With his partner Animal, the Legion of Doom dominated many opponents inlcuding Domolition, Money Inc., and the Natural Disasters. Drugs got the best of Hawk, but WWE fans will always remember him for his legendary tag team style of wrestling in WCW, WWE, NWA, and in Japan.

Eddie Guerrero: One of the most surprising deaths in the past decade was Eddie Guerrero. He was on the active WWE roster and feuding for the WWE title with Batistia on the Smackdown brand. He was clean at the time, but a long history of drug abuse damaged his body and led to his eventual death. The death was impactful for the WWE and the following year he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
