Almost a complete year of time passed before Nintendo's Console, the Wii, was released. Having a vastly smaller selection of release titles and limited number of units, shelving put Nintendo in somewhat of a rut. The Xbox 360 has downloadable games on its virtual console system, allowing owners of the Wii to purchase games from the original 8 bit Nintendo system, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and others. Albeit the virtual console is great with games like "Super Metroid", "Super Mario" and "Original Mario Brothers", and around 50 more titles with new releases all the time. Xbox Live has a larger selection of games for purchase ranging from full-on games such as "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night", to much smaller but intense games as "Geometry Wars", "Feeding Frenzy" and much more.
Each system uses a cash system based on buying "Points" with real currency; the only downfall to this is how the system is set up - you have to buy points sets ranging from 500 points to 5000 on xbox live. Nintendo's system albeit is setup like Xbox live but more forgiving in the fact that you can buy smaller portions of points for a smaller price, But both leave the problem with left over points.
The key here is what you personally are looking for in a gaming system. The Wii has great games for good prices, one of the most killer controller setups ever produced, the games are geared towards children mainly but also has a very large selection of older titles for parents and older games to jump on. And, of course, games like "Mario", "Zelda", and "Metroid" clearly define what can be done with limited graphics but good controls and retro games.
The 360's processing and graphics power is amazing, albeit the Playstation 3 is, at best, just a bit brighter and slightly less pixelated. The 360 hosts some of the most killer games around like "Gears of War", "Halo 3", "Halo Wars", "Crackdown", "Elder Scrolls Oblivion", an army of games on xbox live, and some of the most killer applications to appear on the market so far such as the Xbox Live vision camera. This allows players to chat, or hold conversations in real time video, or put themselves into games visually. To be honest there is so much to list about both of these great systems but it really boils down to if you are a hardcore or casual gamer.
I couldn't go a day without my 360 due to the facts that such great games are coming out every week. But equally go to my Wii which lets me look at the web on my TV while laying in bed, play some of my favorite games from the past, and finally give my body a workout after lazing around the 360 all week.
I hope this was helpful, thanks for reading!
Best Regards in your console choice.

Post a CommentGood review! I'm still holding out for my PS3 but I'm giving everything until fall to see what the big titles are. GTA IV of course might sway my dollar.
