'X Factor' Cher Lloyd is a "Cause for Concern"

Seventeen year old Cher Lloyd has been surrounded by controversy since making the "X Factor" final sixteen. Reports that she might be anorexic , that she is a bully and that she is acting like a diva have plagued her for the past week. Cher Lloyd has also been in the press for an "obsession" with her mentor Cheryl Cole and the possibility that she may not be mentally equipped to cope with the pressures of the "X Factor". News today claims that after the competition results show on Sunday, Cher almost collapsed backstage.

The first "X Factor" live results show gave the news that Cher Lloyd had gathered enough phone votes to get her through to sing for another week. She looked shocked when her name was called, and was shaking but generally speaking, most acts react that way during the live shows. However, this morning the Daily Star reported that after the show she was close to collapse and had to be helped by a crew member to get to the car that was waiting for her outside.

Lloyd is said to have screamed at passers by, crying and been shaking uncontrollably after the results were announced, leading "X Factor" bosses to become more concerned about her health.

A source said, "Cher is a real cause for concern now. Her mood swings, tantrums and now this collapse are adding up."

Cher Lloyd received high praise from the judges after her performance of "Just Be Good To Me" on Saturday night, even though fans speaking on Twitter were not quite as thrilled by it. That said, many people picked up their phones and voted for her - but the question is, is she really ready for this amount of attention?

On Sunday morning, newspapers revealed that Cher broke down during Saturday's rehearsals for the live shows and complained that she looked like a freak. Lloyd was said to be inconsolable until Cheryl Cole stepped in to speak with her. There were many concerns about Lloyd's state of mind during Boot Camp too, leading to her being given a twenty four hour counsellor to help her cope. It was also claimed that "X Factor" producers told the judges to tread carefully with their comments so as not to upset her further.

Bearing all of these things in mind once again begs the question, why did Cheryl Cole put her through? A story published online over the weekend even enters the debate of whether Lloyd is putting on the fragile act to gain public support.

Fake or not, Cher Lloyd still has a long way to go to win over the general public. She may have made it to the next round on the public vote in week one, but any more negative news stories and she may find herself following in the footsteps of Nicolo Festa and FYD.

I was sorry to see FYD go I must admit, they had some style and looked like good guys who deserved a break. Chere always looked as if she had something to hide from the start, and I don't know if it's just the nerves or what. With the news of bullying, maybe she is scared of some truths coming out about her. Who knows, but if there is some dirt to be dished out, I am sure the media will find it.
