The Boys (mentored by Dannii Minogue)
In the boys category is Nicolo Festa, Tom Richards, Paije Richardson, Matt Cardle, John Wilding, Karl Brown, Marlon McKenzie and Aiden Grimshaw. This talented bunch have a variety of personalities and musical styles - and probably the most memorable in terms of complete uniqueness is Italian Nicolo Festa. He has an interesting voice and the potential to be a diva (personality-wise) but could he cut it in the "X Factor" final twelve? Possibly, but there are definitely better voices in this category. Tom Richards has been the subject of much discussion, as most of the way through the judges have considered him either a boyband performer or a musical theatre performer. There is no question of his talent but as a solo artist, I have my reservations.
Far and away my favourite in this category is Matt Cardle. Matt Cardle wandered into the auditions announcing that he is not great at sticking to a career, but the moment he began singing it was decided that he simply hadn't found the right path yet. Singing is his thing. Check out this video!
My picks for the top three boys: Matt Cardle, Aiden Grimshaw and Marlon McKenzie
The Groups (mentored by Simon Cowell)
This category is made up of the few decent groups that originally auditioned, but also two groups Simon Cowell made up out of rejects from the boy and girl categories. Belle Amie and 1 Direction were the Cowell made groups, and they battled for a place in the final twelve with Hussle, Diva Fever, The Reason, FYD and Twem. Twen and Diva Fever are all about being camp and for entertainment value, they are superb. Hussle seem like a great group but the lead singer seems to be the one who does all the talking and Simon Cowell may have been speaking of them when he said they are the group which is one singer with her backing dancers. They are very sharp though.
Belle Amie, one of the groups Cowell put together were the best for me.
My picks for the top three groups: Belle Amie, The Reason and FYD (though 1 Direction also have a great shot!)
Over 28s (mentored by Louis Walsh)
Watching the Over 28's performing for Louis Walsh was a little bit like a rewind to the auditions! It was all very odd. Contestants in this category are John Adeleye, Mary Byrne, Stephen Hunter, Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho, Yuli Minguel, Justin Vanderhyde and Storm Lee. Storm Lee has been another contestant who has been the centre of "X Factor" discussions. Simon Cowell initially disliked him and has seemingly stuck to his opinion throughout. Louis was always a big fan though, but Lee's desperation may ultimately be his downfall. Plus his song choice wasn't the best. Mary Byrne - a fabulous singer but not your average pop star - has a high chance of getting in with Louis in charge, simply for being Irish!
Justin Vanderhyde is my favourite in this category, though whether he is more than a cabaret entertainer remains to be seen!
My picks for the top three Over 28s: Justin Vanderhyde, Storm Lee and John Adeleye
The Girls (mentored by Cheryl Cole)
This category has always been tipped as the hardest one to call because there is so much talent,, Competing in this category is Cher Lloyd, Gamu Nhengu, Katie Waissel, Rebecca Ferguson, Annastasia Baker, Kerri Arundel, Treyc Cohen and Racquel Thomas. There is not a single girl in this group who doesn't deserve to go through - but two who have been waiting a particularly long time are Treyc and Annastacia. Both girls have made it to judges houses before only to fall at the last hurdle. With Katie Waissel crying and failing to sing properly, and Cher Lloyd doing much the same as Katie - the old timers may be in with a shot! Rebecca Ferguson is probably the most interesting vocally, but I have a tendency to forget about her because her low confidence means she looks down throughout her performance. It makes it hard, in my opinion, to think of her as a serious contender.
By far, my favourite girl is Gamu. Her audition at Boot Camp was fantastic!
My picks for the top three girls: Gamu Nhengu, Kerri Arundel and Treyc Cohen. There is much buzz that Cher Lloyd will make it through to the final twelve because Cheryl really liked her a lot, but her failure to sing and her nerves should be a sign that she isn't ready. Give her another year though, and she could be incredible!
The results for the "X Factor" final twelve will be revealed tonight on ITV1! Further reports will follow!

Post a CommentIt will be interesting.
Well you didn't do too well in your predictions did you! Your picks are very similar to mine, but all I saw last night on Facebook were comments about "What was Cheryl Cole thinking?". To not put Gamu through and to put Katie and Cher was I think a real mistake. Gamu was so upset, and we were both shocked too. Storm could be interesting, but he might not last too long. I didn't like the Italian guy that was picked either, he seems too cocky.

Great Predictions! I hope you will write a follow up one on who made it! :)
