'X Factor' Gamu Nhengu Refused Right to Remain in the UK
After a wave of support for the rejected singer, Gamu Nhengu's family must return to Zimbabwe within days after their application to remain in the UK was denied. While sifting through the application, UK Border Agency officials found that Nhengu's mother, Nokutula Ngazana had claimed £16,000 in benefits which she was not eligible to claim.
A spokeswoman for the UK Border Agency said, "The applications made by Ms Ngazana and her family were considered in line with the published immigration rules. Her family, who had applied as her dependants, were therefore also refused. Where people are found to have no right to remain in the UK we expect them to leave voluntarily."
This is sad news for fans of Gamu Nhengu. It puts an end to the hopes that she will return to the "X Factor" and means that the hundreds of thousands of supporters who have campaigned against Cheryl Cole's decision will be disappointed. If Nhengu and her family don't leave the UK voluntarily, they will face deportation.
Gamu, who has stayed out of the spotlight since she was axed from the "X Factor" on Sunday night, made a brief statement last night, saying, "I am overwhelmed by the support. I am doing just fine. Thank you so much for all the support. The whole experience has been amazing."
Whether this is the last time we ever hear about Gamu Nhengu remains to be seen, but for now, the "X Factor" hopeful's dreams of stardom have come to an end.

To bad for her :(
i think that unless you have children that where born in the uk,you shouldnt be able to claim any benifits,that would save the government some money,they could all have there pools cleaned then.....
It's sad that they have to return home in a way, but you can't claim benefits you aren't entitled to and expect to stay either. If Gamu has such a great talent, I am sure that she will be able to pursue a singing career, and I hope we can see her in the spotlight in a few years.
