‘X Factor’: Top 17, Promo Pics Revealed!

It's been a rough week for Simon Cowell.

In addition to baseball game preemptions, "The X Factor" creator was given the unpleasant task of crushing a few dreams this week on the singing competition.

The "Factor" has trimmed the fat from thousands of wannabes, but some lucky hopefuls got to travel to the judges' homes for this latest round, which cut the contestants list down to just 17. The luckiest bunch got to hang at Cowell's pad in Paris-and will be mentored by him!

Of course, Cowell wasn't the only one doing the dirty work on the show: Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid have all had a hand in this dream shattering as well.

But now we have our Top 17 (finally!) and some have had a makeover since those judges' hometown shows were taped! (Check out the link below.)
