'X Factor' Week Three Results Show Recap

Kyra Lennon
During last night's "X Factor", Rebecca turned from shy girl to shining star, Katie was queen of the swingers, Cher rapped her way to some great comments and Wagner was....well...Wagner! Tonight's X Factor results show opened with all of the finalists performing "Forget You" By Cee Lo Green. Every single person gave a great vocal on the song and they always look like they're having a blast together.

As always, before the results there were two star performances. First was Michael Buble, but far more exciting for the people of the UK was "X Factor" judge Cheryl Cole performing her new single "Promise This" from her forthcoming album "Messy Little Raindrops". Watching her, it was hard to believe that just a few short months ago she was fighting for her life in hospital. Cheryl Cole coped well with a testing dance routine, though she looked very relieved when it was over!

After a quick change, she was back with the rest of the judges for the results. First safely through to next week was Cher Lloyd, followed by Aiden Grimshaw, Wagner (much to everyone's irritation), Katie Waissel, One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson, Belle Amie, Matt Cardle, Mary Byrne and Paije Richardson.

This meant that the bottom two were Treyc Cohen and John Adeleye. While it was not too surprising to see John in the bottom too, Treyc was a big shock. Both of them are vocally a million miles better than some of the acts who got through and having to lose either of them was unfortunate.

John sang "Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson as his survival song. Not sure whether it was because I'm used to hearing a woman singing it, but he sounded a tad off key. He also forgot the words - possibly under the pressure which was a real shame because he does have an amazing voice.

Treyc chose to sing "One Night Only" by Jennifer Hudson to secure her place on next week's show. She was literally shaking as she came onto the stage but she nailed the song as only she can and it was far superior to John's performance.

Louis' choice was a no brainer, he chose to send Treyc home. Dannii looked contemplative before she made her choice but chose to send John home, Cheryl also chose stick by her act and send John home. Simon had the deciding vote and also opted to send John home and out of the competition, making Treyc safe for another week.

Personally, I was sad to see him go but in the sing-off, he was the weaker performer. Not as weak as some of the people who were voted through, but that's the way these shows often go!

Based on talent, if should have been Wagner that went, but I am pleased the judges chose to save Treyc rather than John. I think John has more to offer, and I hope he gets a record contract, he deserves it. It was rather cruel that they said Treyc hasn't shown her true style yet, because I think this week she showed her versatility. Not that many black women can pull off a rock song like she did, proving that she can turn to many different styles. I think she could pull off some country songs equally well. Versatility should be a good thing right? Bary Byrne disappointed me since she didn't seem to want to try something other than the type of music that she knows and loves. This will hold her back if she can't try new things. I am still not sure about Aiden. He has a good voice, but hasn't sold himself to me yet.
