Xan Confections All Natural Chocolate Candies

Gluten-Free, Non-Dairy, Vegan and More!

Tricia Goss
I am a wimp. I hold everyone else's stuff while they ride roller coasters. My favorite scent is vanilla. I prefer my mashed potatoes without gravy and my chicken wings mild.

However, I am also a confirmed chocoholic. The extent of my addiction recently overrode my fear of anything daring or different. And it was both a good thing and a bad thing.

You see, I recently had the opportunity to sample some all-natural Xan Confections. These artisan chocolates offer something for everyone, minus the guilt. Their Saintly Sins Collection is low-glycemic, gluten-free and vegan. At 29 calories, 1 gram of fat and 5 grams carbohydrates per piece, you might think there is no way these chocolates, with flavors including Pineapple Sin, Strawberry Sin and Raspberry Sin, could be very tasty. You would be wrong! The same goes for the Jewel Collection, which are non-dairy, vegan, gluten-free caramels.

Before going over how these taste, though, I must tell you how they look. Packed in sturdy, decorative boxes that are perfect for gift-giving, these all-natural chocolates are a feast for the eyes and will have your mouth watering before you even select a piece.

The Saintly Sins come in three distinct designs. Pineapple Sin is a dark chocolate daisy filled with pure pineapple blended with 100% organic blue agave nectar. Strawberry Sin is a dark chocolate knot tinted red, filled with 10-year old strawberry balsamic vinegar. Raspberry Sin is a teardrop shape decorated with musical notes and filled with sumptuous pure raspberry and 100% organic blue agave.

The all-natural chocolates in the Jewel Collection all have the same basic design: a multi-faceted, dark chocolate gemstone dusted in shimmering color. Each flavor has its own distinct color, so that you can read the enclosed guide to decide which to select. With flavors such as Espresso Almond Caramel, Coconut Pecan Caramel and Bananas Foster Caramel, the choice may be difficult.

Xan Confections also offers traditional chocolates, which are also all-natural and handcrafted, with choices such as decadent LadybuG Truffles and indulgent Big Mouth Candies sure to cure any sweet tooth. In addition, you can "build" your own custom box of chocolates, selecting just the pieces you want to sample and share.

Once you sink your teeth into any Xan all-natural chocolate, your mouth begins to sing. These are not second-rate substitute chocolates for people watching their weight or living with other restrictions. Xan Confections are rich, creamy and exploding with delicious flavor. The Saintly Sins burst with authentic fruity sweetness blanketed in velvety dark chocolate. Likewise, the caramels are oversized, chewy and perfectly sweet. The specialty flavors in the caramels are delightfully evident without being artificial or overwhelming.

One word to the wise, though, is that you may want to read the flavor guide enclosed in your box of Xan all-natural chocolates. Otherwise, like me, you may find yourself chewing away on an Ancho Chili Caramel! As I stated, however, my greed for chocolate was not in vain. Had I taken the time to look over the guide, I never would have braved this spicy, sultry gem. While the heat took a little while to subdue, it was a surprisingly tasty combination.

Order a box of Xan Confection all-natural chocolates at XanConfections.com or check their site for the location of a retailer in your area.
