Xbox 360 Xmas Gifts 2008

If you have children that own a xbox 360 then chances are they will be asking for something to do with it for Christmas, "but there are hundreds of 360 products out there!" I hear you cry, well fear not, this piece of writing is just for you!

There are three main types of xbox 360 gift:

Games

Accessories

Subscriptions

Now I will cover each of these in detail.

Games

A console is nothing without games! But the problem is knowing which games to buy. Well it all depends on the type of person you are buying them for, some people prefer adrenalin pumping, fast-paced shooting games, where as others may much more enjoy the relaxed feel of role-playing games.

If you think that you know the right game for someone then great! But before you rush down to the shops, take the time to do a small bit of research on that game, there are many game review sites about and most of them give a simple 'out of ten' rating which can prove extremely useful!

However if you have no clue what so ever about which game(s) to get then why not ask that person? Get them to write the name of the game down on paper so you don't buy the wrong one! But if you want it to be a surprise and not have them know what is hiding behind that lovely Christmas wrapping paper, then you will have to be subtle about it. There are many game advertisements on the T.V at the moment, if you are watching T.V while one come on then why not say something like 'That looks good, don't you think so?' if there response is positive then put that game on your list of potentials!

Accessories

Does the person you are buying the xbox gift for often have friends over to play on his/her 360 console? if so then a second controller might be the perfect gift for him/her. Do they use their xbox to speak with other people over the internet? if so then a keypad would be great!

Some people use their xbox to store loads of music and films, both of which use a fair bit of memory, perhaps a bigger hard drive would put a smile on their face!

Subscriptions

There is something called xbox live. If you purchase a xbox live card with a code on it, and then type this code into your xbox and depending on the value of your code, either receive 1,3, or 12 months of subscription to xbox live gold, which allows you to play multiplayer games against people over the internet (providing you have your 360 linked to the internet). Xbox live can be a great gift even if someone already has it!

The other type of subscription is to an xbox 360 magazine, most 360 owners would love this as a gift but be sure to check they don't already have one!
