What they want affiliate to advertise is a new deal where Xerox is willing to send a free color printer (a Phaser 8560 to be precise) to small or large businesses. For every person who clicks on the link from the affiliate and fills out the form, that affiliate gains $5.00. Not bad for just filling out a form. What happens if Xerox decides if the form is adequate and they send out a free printer? The affiliate then gains $80.00.
Now obviously, you have to wonder why you would be getting $80 for getting someone to fill out a form for a free printer, and yes there is a small catch. First, for the business to get the printer they have to print at least 2,000 copies a month, and Xerox will be keeping tabs to ensure that they print the correct amount, or more.
Also, they are locked into a three year plan where they have to order all the supplies for that Phaser from Xerox themselves. Considering the solid ink sticks that Phasers use, this would alone make it a good idea to order solely from Xerox, and that's the worst of the deal.
They also get three years of on-site service for the printer from Xerox themselves. From being in the printing environment, you really want this on-site service. Though the printer are rather solid, nothing is free from breaking. They are knowledgeable, and incredibly nice people who will get you up and running again within an hour or two (sometimes even less).
What happens after the three years are up? Does Xerox take the Phaser back, or do they reinstate another three year plan? No, actually the printer now belongs to whoever ordered it, and they are free to buy supplies from other vendors (though I would highly suggest you continue using Xerox's real supplies).
Considering the price of Phaser 8560's starts at around $700 for a basic model and can go into the $2,000 range for the better ones, this deal is all around very good. Also the overall cost per print for a color page is $0.09 (compare that to the $0.49 average of print shops. You're lucky to get a $0.09 price for black and white at those places). While being stuck with a printer for three years, where you have to ensure that you are printing at least 2,000 copies a month can be a bother for a small or failing business, for anyone who does do a lot of printing and needs something reliable, the Phaser 8560 is a great printer on its own.
This deal is great for affiliates and businesses, and should be used by both. Affiliates can sign up for this deal at Commission Junction, a standard for affiliate marketers.
