Xerox WorkCentre 7655 Review

Paul Mann
Though you may be daunted by the high price tag, I have to say the WorkCentre 7655 is more than worth the $17,699 price tag affixed to it. Though you will need to do some upgrading to recognize its full potential, this copier will be a great investment for nearly all customers in need of high capacity copying.

Now, what do I mean when I said that it needs some upgrading? Unfortunately, the 7655 only comes standard as a copier. If all you need is a copier, than you are set. However, I think most people will need this as a printer, scanner, and fax machine as well. If you fit into the second category then definitely do the upgrade. If you are positively sure there is no need for a printer and such, and you really need just a copier, keep the machine standard then.

First, let's cover the speed of this machine. Coming equipped to handle both color and black and white printing, the PPM (pages per minute) rating clocks in at a powerful 40 for color and a strong 55 for black and white. Impressive speeds, well fitting the price tag. There are even better models in the same family, which I will cover separately, with better speeds.

Now, what is the maximum paper size? This monster can hold beyond the standard, and can print on 13x19 paper. Great for small posters or presentations, this is a great option to have for anyone who prints on larger than letter (8.5x11) sized paper.

What about paper capacity? The 7655 is right there for you, coming what a standard capacity of 3,260. This is great, but if you need bigger, you can also upgrade to 5,260, sure to please even the busiest users.

As a copier, how many sheets can this machine take at once? The feeder is ready to copy 250 duplexed (double sided) sheets at once. Not only is this great, but it's an awesome deal. I say that because the much more expensive 4595 (usually double or more in price) can handle the same amount, so you really are getting a great copier.

Speaking of double sided, the 7655 comes standard with double sided printing.

Another good feature is the toner capacity. Most models hold only one black toner cartridge at once. However, the 7655 holds two simultaneously, meaning you can keep productivity going for longer.

Security is also great on this machine, as you can set screen names and password for authorized users, you can overwrite sensitive documents so no one can access them, and everything is encrypted.

This also comes with an array of useful features that you will be sure to use more than once during the lifetime of this machine.

I highly recommend this machine, as it will fit nearly everyone's need perfectly. For large office or businesses, to even commercial printers, you will find this machine a great asset.
