X-Mas Disgust

The Sickness of Holiday Cheer

Christmas supposed to be for giving generously
In the form of ridiculously expensive perfume, or Versace dresses
The desire to make someone else, and yourself, feel warm by the fire
Watching chestnuts roasting by the obscenely hot fireplace
Wondering when the holiday euphoria from the rum filled egg nog

Soon as the Turkey's natural goodness seeps into your bloodstream
Rendering you powerless from turning back the clock even for an hour
Stuck with facing the next day at either the office, or at the mall
getting something that was actually on your list.
